Regret when you just spent $$$ on a system you don't like and then do it all over again. Best practice is just weld a different muffler in imo

Not in NY, no way.  You chop and weld some crap in there, say goodbye to that muffler and the rest of the factory system in a couple years.

Plus I leave the factory system in the basement so if/when I sell, I set them back to stock and sell the catback for whatever I can get for it.

So how do you think the factory puts the muffler on? You think they just magically cast it together or....?

Not to be a nuisance but that means either a) the welds are trash or b) you didn't take care of it. Most likely a

Open long tube headers or GTFO.  You won't ever have to worry about tips again!

HA! I played around with a 13 Camaro SS and ran open headers for a day or two. That was crazy loud. It did sound a bit nasty too. I just had the muffler and flapper cut on my 21 Sierra. Sounds pretty good just doing that. Ill probably leave it that way til the warranty runs out then throw LTHs on it. Personally I dont mind loud but it has to sound nice and clean.

I had a Dakota R/T back in the day when 250hp was a lot.  I had a set of Mopar Performance headers on it through two 40-series Flowmasters with cats I gutted with a long screwdriver.  Turned down the pipes right behind the mufflers.  Nobody cared about tips back then....the norm was to hide them...all about the sound...I couldn't have fit tips under it anyway....that thing was only a couple inches off the ground.....ahhh good times....

But now I'm a grown adult and I enjoy the civility and peacefulness of a quiet driving experience....😂

Honestly?  Its your truck.  Do whatever you want to it and don't ask or care what others think.

Also, this is why I stick to simple cat back exhausts that are quality and sound great like my Corsa Sport or a Borla, MBRP, Magnaflow, etc.  No ghetto 8 inch tips, no hacking, welding, regrets, etc.

Yes long tube headers just thats it would sound good 😂. Im thinking about 10” tips

They're another way you could also add more noise.  Replace the rubber bushings in your motor mounts with polyurethane bushings.  Fairly cheap mod.  All you need it access to a press.

For some reason lapoolboy's post reminded me of this mod.

Are you gonna squat the truck or what?

Tennis ball?  How about a 76 ball or Jack In The Box clown head?

@Transientfor the squatted truck community the tennis balls on the antenna represent how many girls they have slept with. I really think it means how many boys but I don't make the rules I just relay them

Haha yes!  The diameter 8”. They will be tucked up under the bumper mostly so only the edge will be visible. The pinched inside look like this.

Don't forget the truck nuts to complete the look!

And the bonus is that nobody will be able to put bananas in your tailpipe.  They'll need Grapefruit or Cantelope!!!

And my recommendation for the best exhaust sound is to route it directly into the cab of the truck.  That will give you the best sound and not piss off your neighbors too much.
