I'm talking about the "Auto Highbeam" push button on the turn signal stalk. I wish it was a "quick wipe" push button to activate the wipers once. I mean how often are people turning the auto-highbeams on or off? Either you leave this on or off. However I'm constantly having to twist the stalk end for the 1X wipe.

Is there a way to re-map or switch/swap these buttons? It's quite often that reach for the push button hoping for a wipe. On my Ford, this is actually a wipe button. And there is no auto highbeam on/off button as it is an option in the settings.

I bet you get used to it and won't even think about it.

On the positive side is the same hand location as for adjusting intermittent setting.

Wiper functions should have been a separate stalk on the right side of the column for the console shifter trucks.

The auto high beam button is no big deal. The trailer brake controller behind the console shifter on at4/Denali and the giant stupid all windows down button on the center stack are way dumber

I don't know if I will, as I switch between both Ford and GM.

I usually don't mess with the wiper setting too much either as I leave the setting on Auto. And if I need a wipe in between, then I just use the quick wipe button.

But on this I always have to move the wiper switch from whichever setting its at, all the way to the bottom and twist it for a quick wipe then rotate the switch back all the way back to where it was. Seems pretty stupid in my opinion.

I'm new to GM, so maybe the GM customers are already used to it. But I would love to be able to remap the button.

My dad was a GM employee so I've only had GM vehicles so the clockwise 1x wipe is second nature. The exception was the Geo Metro 3-banger, 5-speed I learned sick on. That POS didn't even have intermittent wipers.

Uh, no.  Its not a PC game where you can just re-map controls.

GM has had the quick wipe twist for a LONG time.

GM ergonomics aren't quite what they used to be...

My 15 is terrible:

Seat climate controls hidden behind shifter

Dash vents situated to either freeze your hands off or blow anywhere else but on you

Dash taller than everest

Seats as low as a Tacoma

Sliding rear window control makes no sense

Definitely gonna be more aware of these things on my next truck - at least with GMC vs Chevy you can get some different dash layouts that might better suit different drivers.

Since this is the complaint thread. When I take any vehicle in to any dealer they turn off the auto headlights and move the seat. Your only going a few feet just leave it alone. The Honda seat moves back according to the fob. Otherwise put it back. And leave the radio alone. The guy at the dealership that washes the car after service leave the radio alone. Put the dimmer switch back on the floor. I almost break the clicker stick when someone flashes me at the last minute when I’m going up a slight incline. The engineers who designed the stupid headlights should be fired. And auto wipers. In my area it’s pretty humid. Every once in awhile even on a clear day on they go. Talk about startling. I drove my son’s old Tahoe once. I started getting a half as$ cheek massage getting close to the center line. Once I recovered I went to the right. Yup as I thought right cheek. The grandkids thought I was nuts. I was lucky I wasn’t pulled over for swerving. I was enjoying the massage. Totally useless otherwise.

Have you tried moving the switch to the next position "up" for the "quick wipe" then back to the previous?

That would work.

So would tapping the windshield washer button.
