2021 GMC Sierra 1500 3.0 with 44k miles. Headed to my shop when what sounded like a demolition crew under my truck going full swing started to happen, no CEL right away. Drove it to my transmission guy behind my shop and he tells me “it sounds really bad take it to the dealer”

so took it to the first dealer and the first question he asked me was “who did your lift?” So I took my truck back and got it loaded on a tow truck after driving it to the first dealer and got to the second. No questions asked about any mods on the truck. Diagnosed and was told the Idler gear shows significant damage, converter has metal shavings, and something else I can’t remember.

The service advisor got it covered under warranty and I got a new transmission

The first transmission that was in there did feel “loose” when putting the truck in gear or park. This new one feel tight and firm

I’m thinking I might’ve had a faulty transmission and it finally took a dump idk

With all the bad news coming out of GM lately I was hesitant to click on the link for this thread.  I was having nightmares about GM giving away Ivy League NCAA swimmers.  I'm glad this thread is more PC than that.  Based on your username I'll assume you're in California.  Where did this take place?

I'm in San Diego for the next 8 weeks.  Moving to Florida on July 1.

I agree California sucks, but not looking forward to the humid weather.  Military orders.  Unfortunately, I've had people tell me that those who leave California are failures who couldn't make it in this state.  My departure has nothing to do with success or failure.

Edit:  I'm originally from Utah

My wife sees California transplants at our local Recreation Center pool weekly. The sell their California home buy a new Texas home for less than half of the one they sold in California. Living in a county with little crime on a lake front property. Raising their standard of living as a byproduct by leaving California. There’s nothing wrong with California per se, it’s the people who run it.
