On my way home from the dealership last night, I had the following occur-

Loud popping noise from the front end while turning.

Cover on the rear view mirror popped down and fell partially off.

Check engine light for emissions systems/emissions failure

Remote start does not function

Lane assist does not engage the wheel (triple checked all settings and user guides)

I have already scheduled service at my local dealer.  I am simply informing all parties in hopes the information can be successfully reported to Chevy so that quality control improves.

You've posted in the 1500 section rather than the HD area.

Any chance the popping is because it's running on hard surface with the 4wd engaged?

I got nothing on the mirror.

Hate to disappoint you, but only the 1500's have Lane Keep Assist. (LKA)

LKA with Lane Departure Warning (rpo UHX) now is standard on all 1500 trims.

On 1500 HC it can be upgraded to supercruise

On HD's Lane Departure Warning is standard.

Lane Departure Warning with Side Blind Zone alert is available on 2500 WT and Custom

Trailer side Blind Zone Alert is available on LT and LTZ, standard on ZR2 and HCL

Remote start will not function if there is an emissions CEL.

The vehicle cannot be remote started if:
 • The remote key is inside the vehicle or if the key is in the ignition.
 • The hood is not closed.
 • There is an emission control system malfunction and the lamp is on.
 • The ignition is in any mode other than off.
 • The hazard warning flashers are on.
 • The 30 minutes of engine run time have been used.
 • The vehicle is not in P (Park).

This is a public forum.

It is not a message system to 'get information successfully reported to Chevy'.

(yes they have a call centre type rep stop in occasionally - but who knows how much gets read and/or reported back)

Not a good idea to disconnect the battery.  That can have unintended consequences in these new vehicles.
