Aftermarket Remote Start

So, I'm looking to install a remote start system in my truck. I know some trucks already come with it wired up just does not come with the keys. My truck is a 2016 Silverado WT, which does not have it installed. I need some input on which one you guys think is the best for the money.

why not use the free onstar remote start for 5 years?

My onstar remote does not have remote start. Just lock and unlock. I have to install a remote start because my WT is pretty basic.

Weird, I'm sure someone that is a little more Educated on it will. Chime in. It comes standard for 5 years. Not sure if WT models are exempt or if it's a canada thing.

It may just be the WT models. But I bought my truck in Anderson, SC. I was trying to post a screen shot of my Onstar remote. But it won't post.

If it's not on it from the factory it won't be on the Chevy app. I'm sure it goes by the VIN and the system can tell if it has remote start or not. Some on here have installed the remote start and they call Onstar to have it feature added to the app. Not sure if they did factory or aftermarket. Or if which or both would allow that feature to be added. I would see about factory so I wouldn't have to carry 2 remotes.

I found where there is a specific code that would be in the glove box if it is installed and you do not have the remote. But my truck did not have the code. So I would have to install a remote start system.

fortin evo one with t harness, and programmer under 200 bucks cdn. i put this in over a year ago and works great, you use the remotes that came with your truck. you do need keyless entry

I had a GM Dealer installed, Remote Start put in my Sierra upon delivery, and had to call On Star to complain about the lack of the Remote Start feature on the App.......a week later, I get a call "should be ready to go", I just had to log off, then log back onto MYGMC, and there it was. I'm not sure if this will work with aftermarket, but it did work with the GM kit.

Where did you get it from? I have keyless entry I just don't have the fob with remote start. So I would need new fob with the remote start

No you use the fobs you got now after the installation you press lock 3 times and start the truck
