Hazy

This is a dumb question but here goes- Why does my windshield get a haze on the inside when running the heat/ac? It's not the normal fogging, but stays on the glass untill I wipe it off, I now that sounds dumb but is it something in the vents?

Mine gets this oily residue too. I have the best luck using a dry terry towel to remove it, almost like buffing it off. Every time I use a cleaner it streaks, and leaves spots. I bought a chamois to try now, but have yet to use it.

yeah, your not completely removing the residue from the window cleaning product. I find it best to wipe everything till it looks dry than move on, all around the truck till you come back where you started, than take some dry paper towel (window cloths microfiber towels what have you) and rub all the residue off, its almost like waxing.

 

Also, this is much more difficult a task if you smoke in your truck. I would advise against it. I never smoke in my truck, just turns everything brown and leaves crap everywhere.

Outgasing from the plastics and leathers if you have leather interior, this is common on newer cars/trucks, a good microfiber towels and a good glass cleaner like Invisible Glass will clean it completely, but it does keep coming back.

Apply Fog-x (by Rain-x) to the inside of your windows after a good cleaning. You will never see the haze again.

I just clean mine normally, then go back over the "cleaned" window with a microfiber cloth. Seems to work well.

I have tried fog-x and I still get the haze on the inside of the windshield. Maybe I'm not applying it correctly, but I am following the directions on the bottle.

 

I agree with using a cleaner and then buff them with a clean towel, cloth, etc. to remove the haze. I use 303 protectant on the dash. Maybe that has something to do with the haze.
