I don't have any pictures but I did the DL3 mirror upgrade to have all the sweet features. Thanks @pgamboa.3 points

The flapper was noticeably louder than just the screens. I may have video of each. But on startup with the flapper pinned open( combined with screens covered) it had quite a growl. I covered my screens with aluminum fascia, cut to fit, and SS clamps. I didn't use that cheap ductwork tape as it wouldn't last. The tape is aluminum as well, but it is very slight.2 points

Why do these discussions ALWAYS degenerate into something completely different from the initial question ? ( ie Miles per gallon for a 2020 6.6 gas engine)1 point

Here is my Proclip iPhone mount. They are a little expensive. I have had a couple but so far they have held up really good. Until we get wireless CarPlay, I will continue using this iPhone holder and mount from ProClip. It seems to be pretty sturdy. No problems with my knee or leg hitting it. It stays put and holds the phone securely. Just get in and slide the phone down and it "clicks" into the cable at the bottom. Where I have it placed currently, very minimal blockage of the buttons behind it. I don't use the trailer brake or the lane keep assist. It does very slightly block the first seat warmer button on the left. Of course this is only when the phone is mounted. I have not done any work yet to hide the wires. I have been lazy. Hope this helps someone else looking for a phone mount.1 point

29,800 on a 2017? That's average for a 2 year old truck and below average for a 3 year old truck. Be happy with that. I bought my 2016 in June of 2018 with 64,000 and already put 40,000 on it. I would've loved to have only had 30,000 on mine.1 point

You must make more money than I. I wouldn’t think twice to install a combo patch plug in that and run her until bald!1 point

Eibach pro truck w/ springs, 2" motofab rear kit, and Freedom Off Road UCA's.This makes the truck feel planted and solid. Better than factory ride and makes the truck look aggressive. So glad i did the install. Everything installed in my driveway was about $1100. Next up 33" Cooper XT's, Fender Flares, rear vinyl wrap, and exhaust. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk1 point

ya, I saw that $500+ and on permanent backorder, all I need is a bracket and I can make some other lights work for way less cost, it's ridiculous to make a product that has a market but then price yourself out of the market, if they cut the price in half they could still make money and sell more of them. I might take one of these oem lights out and have someone with a 3d printer take some measurements and make some brackets, or a machine shop, doesn't seem to be anyone selling any alternatives. But i'm still looking around at this point, thanks for responding.1 point

It looks pretty good from the back. How does it look from the side? Great innovation, by the way.1 point

Traded in my 2016 the other day to finally get myself a 2019 RST Z71. I've always wanted the Cajun Red Tintcoat color since they came out with it, especially on the 2019. Put my 33s from the 2016 onto the stock rims. (My 20x12s wouldn't fit due to the bigger brake calipers) Muffler delete Fog light mod (Fogs stay on when high beam engaged) Many more mods will be done, just gotta get the time. So far in love with the 19, a very nice upgrade from the 16.1 point

.. pull the trigger you won't regret it. I'm set on 3rd notch with stock springs.. night and day difference in ride and control.. especially towing.. gives me just the right amount of ground clearance for the winter driving around here.. I also bumped up to 275 60 20.. fills out the wheel wells better with slight rub on control arm at full lock only1 point

5200 miles. 25.9 mpg lifetime. Picked up 1 ton of wood pellets last week, drove home about 19 miles, performed flawlessly. I changed the oil at 3500 miles, the oil drain plugs is a 3/8” square fitting and only takes 1/4 turn and it drops out quickly. It has a large oil drain hole and it seems all 6 qts came out at once. Somewhat messy. I like to see Fumoto develop an oil drain valve for this particular oil pan. other wise no complaints, the 8 speed transmission paired with this engine is flawless. Never downshifts uphill. For example, I drive over the high rise bridge in Virginia Beach a few times a week, you can feel it calling for gas but the rpms hold steady. Low end torque is outstanding. My 2018 Tacoma would have shifted to 4th and rpms would skyrocket. All in all, I’m impressed with this truck, although leery of switching from Toyota to Chevy, Hopefully I’ll take care of it and it will at least see me to 200k. I’m thinking I should install a catch can, but I come from the era of “points, plugs, and condenser “ and have no clue where to start or if it will void my warranty.1 point

Here is the Valentine V1 bracket. It is the mirror mount radar detector bracket from Amazon. got the hardwire solution from Gen5diy dot com. They use GM factory connectors. It was plug and play and literally took a couple of minutes to install. Also you can see the sun brow window tint at the top of the photo. so far no issues or problems and works like a charm. I am really liking the location especially no suction cups on the window.1 point

Dealership installed the Kicker Audio System but cut corners and decided not to install the lights. (Many dealers do this apparently) I didn't really care for the system but if they put it in there and I have it... I wanted the lights. So I bought the multi-pro tailgate lights kit and popped the lights out of the frames and put them in the kicker system.1 point

So surprisingly few people have chimed in here. I've got a 2014 GMC Sierra 6.2 CC SLT Max Tow I never used fluid film and in 2016 realized they don't make american cars like the others I've owned. The rust was gross. I live in Michigan and understood why so many trucks are rusted out in 10 years. I FF'd the shit out of my truck and the wax definitely peeled where I poked at it but otherwise it was just stick goop that worked to prevent rust. IF anything, untouched, the FF extended the life though also softened the wax. In 2017 I used a chisel, elbow grease, and brake cleaner and super degreaser by meguiars out of a pressure washer to remove the FF and the wax coat. Then I rust converted it (plexoyl or something, blue/white spray cans) and coated it 3x with flat black enamel paint (rustoleum). After that had dried 100% (it was summer) I put a thick layer of FF on and touch it up 2x a year. This has stopped ALL rust and has worked great. Don't need to wash it - at first this was shady feeling but seriously. The FF - left to it's own - will coat your shit and work. If you have to, for peace of mind, touch it up and thicken it up at will. DEFINITELY 100% without question - spray this shit in your rocker panels, in your doors, on your hinges, and in your cab corners. It will keep them from rotting out from the inside. If you get it on the rubber weather strips they'll warp a little but they are cheap and easy to repair if you don't care to apply with caution. When I bore scoped mine in 2016 there was lots of specs of rust forming which have not changed since I started blasting FF in there. Greasy yep. Smelly, yep. But that goes away after a few days and no one looks inside your doors. Definitely not in your rocker panels.1 point

Hey all, after fishing the wiring harness out of the door I have found the issue. Underneath the the rubber boot in the door jam, right where the fitting goes into the door, my green/yellow wire is cut clean. It almost looks like somebody cut it with a pair of scissors. Everyone having these issue is effed up. I’m going to add a little bit of wire to give it some length so it’s not tight tight, and then solder and heat shrink. This will resolve my issue as there is no corrosion. I will post a picture when I get computer access. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

This looks simply amazing... It's how they should have built the truck in the first place...1 point

It took me a minute to figure what you were trying to say in that incoherent response. I really appreciate your unsolicited opinion. Anyways, Does anyone have any insight into how I can make this mod work for me? Because I do notice the difference.1 point

Yeah I've still got it. I paid $175 for the box, wiring adapter, and shipping. The wiring was $45, so that leaves $135 for the box and shipping, is what I paid for it. I'd let it go for $120 shipped if you think that's fair. Let me know. You can private message me if you prefer. Thanks for the interest. It's been sitting in the box since I received it. I'd love for it to go to a fellow board member. And if I sell it, then I can buy one that fits my 2500. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk1 point

Can’t by pass the magnaride, all wired into the system. Light will go off like a Christmas tree! Stuck like chuck with it. It’s cool Fabtech kit working fine1 point

I’ve already used mine with the mirrors folded in. Went through a drive through and the menu sign lights were off. Turn the left side lights on and ordered dinner. Not likely the intended use but what the heck, it worked.1 point

Seems like if you cant see which light is on by looking out the window, then why do you need the light. I can see mine perfectly when it is dark enough to use them?1 point

The nicer kits don’t put any stress on the steering nor suspension. My 2015 Denali with 6 inch Fabtech stills rides like a Denali. Just giving my experience with a 6 inch lift to ease the minds of others considering lifting there truck. Not trying to but in.1 point
