The quality control in the product is one thing. Every batch is equal to the last. Being a smaller company compared to the likes of Mobil, AMSOIL strives to product a high quality product. Don't get me wrong, Mobil 1 isn't bad but for the high volume of oil they put out the quality between batch's can vary. Another aspect is AMSOIL covers all their products with their own warranty and stands behind it and have been since they came on the market back in 1972.2 points

Looking for an auxiliary switch that'll mount directly in the factory locations and haven't been able to locate any GM part options. I'm trying to maintain that factory look. Is anyone aware of any aftermarket options? I recently purchased the grill mounted dual 10" light bars from Rough Country that I'd be using this for.1 point

This project took me about 2 hours total. Please see the attached PDF for more photos and project details. I also included links to where I purchased my supplies. I can't say thanks enough to Smoothbassman, his input gave me the confidence to tackle this project. I am really pleased with how it turned out. FOOTWELL LEDS.pdf1 point

If anyone in the Houston area is looking to buy Aftermarket Parts, I may be able to help you save some money as I have an account with a Distributor here in town to get a lot of items at cost. Feel free to PM me with part numbers and I can get a price for you. I'm not sure if this is okay to post on here, but if it's not then I understand. Just trying to help out, because I know how quick all of our Mods can add up. Some of the brands I'm able to get are: Amp Research Steps Bak Flip Bed Covers Flowmaster & Magnaflow Husky Liners K&N N-Fab WeatherTech etc.1 point

I'm running the Camburg kit. It's night and day difference regarding off-road performance with the additional bypass. The people who are happy with just a 2.5/3.0 King/Fox coilover even at custom mid-travel spec just don't drive their vehicle hard enough. Without the bypasses I was constantly bottoming out the front, next step is to work with a shock tuner to get both the rear/front 3.0 triple bypasses properly tuned. Once everything is tuned, I'm going to use this current set up to improve my off-road driving skills. In 1.5 / 2 years or so I will do a 4WD delete and run a race kit in the front (might do j-arm set up but need to see if the additional 3 inches is worth it from your typical 17/18in travel from race kits) and link the rear (not sure if I wanna do short course or traditional) and cage the truck. I'm still undecided on engine modifications, I see dudes with 600HP+ blown L86s who are not using all that power off road and that kind of power would for sure get me in trouble lol. I regularly post stories of me on Instagram sending/pushing the truck pretty hard -- shoot me a DM for the handle if your interested in that kind of content.1 point

I was out of town when the body shop found the cracks around the clips. Sorry, I wish I had some photos to pass along but I don't. I called it "beetle tape" It is butyl tape that is now covering the clips on these replacement windows. It rained all night here and I purposely left my truck out in it. Not a drop and dry as a bone. Again that's an original repaired window (not replaced) that had the clip locations sealed with urethane. I'll keep this post updated as time goes by.1 point

I've been debating on ordering the jumpseat replacement or waiting to find an entire center console from salvage. My biggest gripe isn't so much that the current one doesn't open but really the lack of comfortable places to put stuff like my phone when connected to android auto/car play. In the meantime i've taken a stab at creating a floor console model as the ones recommended from amazon and others at autozone just don't fit the space all that well. This was built out of foam originally to get the idea down, now i'm going to rebuild it out of wood and vacuum form plastic to create a more "finished" like product. The goal is to be able to replicate it relatively easily in the event that others that don't wish to spend $200-$300 on the jumpseat swap. Be gentle, i'm no builder/engineer by trait and this is very much a work in progress.1 point

Battery and Alt are brand new, old Alt had .4V of ripple current and old battery did test bad, but the problem started a while back and has been a pain in the arse since August. I do have some heat wrap laying around that I can throw on the rail and see if that helps.1 point

I feel for all of you dealing with this unacceptable treatment over a "new year" poor design issue that continues into subsequent years. Are you disclosing the window leak issue to the other manufacturer during the trade? If not, are they not curious as to why you are trading a virtually new truck for another brand?1 point

Pretty busy day for the old girl today. Picked it up from the dealer, they installed remote start, coded my factory fog lights and installed the gm 2” factory lift. Then I went straight to my tire shop to get my wheels and tires installed. At home I had factory GMC floor liners and the under seat rear storage box to install. I’ll post up some more pics tomorrow. Scheduled out to get my level installed on Friday (dealer wouldn’t do it) and getting the bumpers wrapped matte black. Pretty much done after that for a bit. Wallet needs a break.1 point

If you're referring to mine, thanks. Not bad for using an antique "eggbeater drill" to drill the initial hole and to use a drill saw, with some keyhole hacksaw use.1 point

Worked out a deal out with IronVilkas and couldn't be happier! We both shipped to each other and got them installed over the weekend. For anyone curious about going from the console to a jump seat, the only hiccup I found was the hole left in the carpet if you have a Bose system from where the sub woofer housing was under the console. But, I simply filled the void with some of those foam workbench mats (cut to fit) and then covered with a new WeatherTech floor mat designed for the trucks with a jump seat originally and it looks awesome! Thanks IronVilkas!1 point

Pacific blue Denali. Was never fond of all the chrome, so I color matched the grille surround, hood nose and door handles. I swapped out the window trim and tow hook surround with black. So much better for me. Also cranked up the front a little and put on BFG 295 65 r201 point

New to this forum, thanks everyone for your input. Here’s one I experienced last fall after crossing the US/Canada border in my ‘17 Sierra SLT - switching the speedometer from MPH (US) to KM/H (metric) also changes ALL other displays to metric. Cabin temp, transmission temp, and outside temp displays all go from degrees F to C, tire pressure and oil pressure go from PSI to KPa, fuel economy goes from MPG to L/km, etc. I ended up toggling back and forth often to stay within speed limits and still have an idea of fuel economy. I was pulling a travel trailer and L/km didn’t help me much. Thankfully, it’s pretty easy to swap between modes.1 point

I think they're fine as well, with one exception. I prefer the colour DIC on the previous gen, compared to the new version on the T1xx's. The new DIC looks older and cheesy compared to the one on my 2017.1 point

Couldn't agree more. I am perhaps one of the few that is ok with the interior design. I lean more towards the technology end and this truck has it all: high definition cameras & screen, large hud, cooled seats, android auto etc. Sure the infotainment screen could be bigger but it's very fast, responsive and supports android auto/apple carplay. Like you, the only aspect of the interior i don't like is how flimsy some of the switch gear feel. Every time I turn on the heated or cooled seats, I cringe. It's like turning on a $2 toy. Compare this to the buttons on the steering wheel which are very solid feeling, like they would never break.1 point

After filling 7.4 quarts, install the rubber fill plug and the heat shield. Ok all done! At this time you’ve made a damn mess so I brake clean the exhaust pipe and transmission pan at this time. And that is how you change the fluid and filter on your 8 speed transmission on your Sierra/Yukon without messing with the exhaust. Ask any questions if my impromptu write up wasn’t thorough enough, I do this a lot so I may have missed a small step I do out of habit! Hope this helps -GM Technician Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

GM keeps telling me that they want to give me compensation but they can’t tell me what. They only say I have to wait until my truck is repaired and then and only them can they talk about compensation. Kinda like a health care law. Got to pass it to see what we just voted for1 point

It’s sad that a company with hundreds of engineers makes a vehicle that leaks water inside. How many decades has mankind been able to make cars that don’t leak water inside? 8? 9? Cars have kept the elements out since World War I. Since humans didn’t have a basic understanding of bacteria. I’m dumber for having contemplated this.1 point

Brought my truck back tonight to have them hook up power to the rear slider that was overlooked by the glass company. Two other Silverados parked inside the drive bay with leaking rear windows. Dealer is literally running out of space inside to park leaking trucks. I will say they gave me a loaded Chevy Blazer. That thing feels fast for an SUV. Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk1 point

Correct, but being bolted to one another, if the chassis flexes more on the half ton, that flex would then be transferred through the cab right? Since the LD & HD share a cab (and almost nothing else), if the HD proves to be not as leak prone, that would maybe indicate the chassis flex is the main issue, not the cab. I dunno, this is all above my pay grade, but I think we are doing better than GM’s engineering staff. I think either way, if this was solvable by simply beefing up the window frame itself, that would have already been done. Theoretically it would be quicker and easier to redesign the window than the cab or the frame. I dunno but GM is literally going broke fixing all these damn trucks in the meantime.1 point

Been through heavy mountain rain storms and never garaged, opened the slider a few times when parked for venting. After seeing all these post I just had to go out and check again because just had a heavy rainstorm last night. Dry as a bone on rear glass, inner window channel, seats, headliner and rug. Truck has a sports bar behind the spoiler which might disrupt rain getting dripping off the spoiler lip and blown against the rear glass when traveling at speed, but does nothing to keep water off the glass when parked. The rubber seals on the rear spoiler and surrounding the outside of the slider seem effective in keeping water out of the interior.1 point

i appreciate the reply. the chevy link states they are vinyl. you mentioned yours are plastic. i prefer vinyl as i don't want a raised plastic object with visible edges. yours looks the best in my opinion so far though. love the black on black.1 point
