Questions about ECM/PCM

Okay- So I had my truck tunned by Justin at Black Bear. He did a great job, will for sure be getting another tune on my future trucks from Black Bear.

 

I put the stock ECM/PCM back into my truck and am now trying to sell the truck.

 

I would like to sell the tunned ECM/PCM.

 

1. What are these worth?

2. Where do I try and sell them?

 

 

Any advice or info you can give would be great. Thanks.

the tuned ECM & TCM modules will only only work if the person buying them have the exact same factory settings you did like gears, motor size, tranny and so on. then you take a chance of someone wanting to change the tune because they do not like what you have done to them. See if maybe BB will buy them off of you for extra modules that they can use. That is probably your best bet

Yeah, I would do a factory reset and then sell it.

plus, the tuned ecm is made for YOUR truck... has your VIN number in it, engine calibration ID's, etc... the new owner would have to get all of those changed/updated, plus they would have to have their dealer (or someone with a Tech2) do a crank relearn on it/their truck....

 

there's more involved than just a plug it in and go....

That tuned ECM WILL NOT work the same in any other truck but yours. Hope you can get something worked out with Black Bear.
