Finally got around to ordering the KoolVue GM74ER and EL tow mirrors for my 01' GMC 2500. I wish I had ordered them 2nd day now. Anybody ordered these for their truck, Im guessing from what Ive read they make a pretty good tow/camper mirror.

When you get them installed post some picture and let me know what you think of them. My next project over the winter is probably going to be new mirrors (as long as snowmobiling doesn't take up too much time and money) and want to know how other people have made out with them.

10-4 I will, Im hopeing they get here by Friday but I dont know if Ill be that lucky, then Ill look to Recon for some roof light next. I was going to trademy truck in for a diesel but since I dont have but 64k on my truck tow mirros and a few little upgrade is alot cheaper than a new one.

I went with Recon LED cab lights to replace the factory ones about two years ago. They look great however they leaked. I ended up needing to silicone around the tree lights which made it stop and then about a year later I did it again just to be safe. I was disappointed that they leaked but am very happy with the look and have seen very few with the same lights. Also they may have changed the design since I bought mine and may no longer leak.

Thats my biggest concern is that they will leak on me especially since mine doesnt have them Ill have to drill holes for them.

Last month I installed the Koo-Vue GM73E-S (from MonsterAuto) on my 2005 2500HD replacing the OE Power Extending mirrors. I'm happy with them.

I really want to add cab lights to my truck as well. I think the after market smoked Recons look awesome! I just dont know if I trust myself enough to start drilling holes into my cab.... I had found a website that had a great step by step procedure for adding them but it still makes me nervous.

I added the koolvue towing mirrors and love them. They have a very minute wiggle at highway speeds. My factory originals were power extending camper mirrors and they wiggled 10 times worse than these. I also added the smoked cab lights on my truck. It wasn't a hard job, just take your time and make sure you have all your measurements before drilling the holes. Also be sure to silicone all the holes when you mount the lights. I haven't had any leaks, going on a year now.

Kool Vue makes good mirrors. The only down side is the glass shakes at highway speeds.

I had to replace the left mirror (DPN) due to some azz hitting it. I bought the Kool Vue because it was cheaper. Wrong move, it vibrates like crazy. Now have the GM mirror on order and will never fool with the Kool Vue again.

I dont mine drilling the holes I just dont want to have em' leak. I figure I'll use silicone to seal em' um. How do the Recons hold up to the sun, my truck stays in the weather no where to park it under cover. I wanted to order the power extending mirrors for mine but didnt want to have to fool with with changing the wires around in the door. Im lazy I guess.

My truck came with the prep package. It took me awhile to figure out what that button was for!

Take your time, measure twice. If you have a truck you can take measurements off it helps, then lay your lights out and mark with masking tape before you drill. Make sure to silicone all holes.
