2012 Tahoe PPV - Add DIC Buttons

Hello, Fellas.

Taking delivery of two new 2012 Tahoe Police Vehicles this month, and was wondering if anyone had added the DIC buttons to a non-DIC Tahoe?

These come with the DIC display, but not the buttons, which extend the functionality.

I see lots of DIC conversions on here regarding the Sierras and Chevy Pick-ups and such, (and stupidly even bought two of the GM kits to add this, thinking the Tahoe and Silverado parts would be the same...NOT), but I see nothing in the boards about adding the buttons to the Tahoes. I can't even find a photo of them installed; I know you can get them on the LTZ's. It even mentions them in the LTZ manual.

Anybody know if this will work, as on the Silverado-type mod, or am I just whistling Dixie?

I know I'll ahve to return the ones I've got; I just would like to make one trip to the dealer, if the right parts are available for the 2012 Tahoe.

Thanks for any help.

As far as I know it will work. Wiring should be the same between all of gmt900 trucks and SUV's. I'm not 100% but I'm 99.9%

Thanks guys.

I really appreciate the input. I thought the top line trucks, like the LTZ Tahoes, had this feature. I've even seen one photo of them installed. I've just got to make sure I get the right panel this time.

As soon as the trucks get here, I'll check for the cable, and get the trim panel ordered. I'm pretty sure the actual switch assy. is the same, so all I'll have to do is transfer it from the panels I bought to the panels I WILL buy.

Great forum. Thanks again for the help.

By the way, has anybody got a factory-DIC-equipped Tahoe (??? :fart:), 2008-2012, that would share their VIN, so that I can get the local guys to look up the part number?

If so, I promise to keep the info in strictest confidence, destroy all evidence, etc. If so, please PM me.

Thanks a bunch.

There a few on here that will chime in if they run accross this. You could always stop by a dealer, find your dash style in the lot that has one, and get the last 8 digits of the VIN# and take it to the parts counter.

Don't know if this will help, but it looks like you would need the #11 display switch, along with the #17 trim plate in order to add the DIC to your Tahoes.

Thanks for all the help, fellas.

Got the trucks last week; ordered the panel replacements and switches, and did the install in less than 5 minutes total.

Easiest mod I ever did. On anything.

Thanks again.

Don't you just love storys with happy endings! What a happy forum!

If you wouldn't mind, please list the part numbers you used, in case someone else is looking to do the same thing.
