17" oem rims off a 2008 chev 2500 fit a 2004 gmc 2500?

Hello to all,

 

New to the forum and Gm Trucks in general. Recently bought a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 4x4 Crew Cab Long box W/T with 6.0l and 4.10 gearing. It came with stock tires (245/75/16) and appears to have the torsion bars cranked up as it sits level with what appears to be lots of room for larger tires. I have a set of 295/70/17 tires that I would like to install and have a line on a set of 17" oem aluminum wheels off a 2008 chev 2500 that I could use. Will this tire/rim combo work for me? Is there any difference in offset, etc? Any insight appreciated!

I think my biggest concern will be if they will have enough offset to clear the UCA's, etc. I had to use wheel spacers on my other pick-up (04 Tundra) when they were installed on factory rims in order for them to clear.

I bought the 16" alloy rims off a 2004 to mount my snow tires. The offset was identical to my 17" alloy rims.

Im pretty sure the offset is the same with both being factory rims. Mount em up and see what they look like. Make sure to post some before and after pics for us.
