"Started" my truck but found the battery is on it's last legs. Shopping for a replacement. Wish a could get a deep cycle but the budget committee (the wife) has overruled my request...

just buy it and suffer the consequences

I initially typed it must be tough cause unlike him, you can't give me a time out when I act up but then I realized you most likely can do this!

I'm done for now.

He's way cuter but at least I wipe my own ass.

I would tell her that it is just like her watch battery when it quits its time for a new one (watch or truck) which ever!! I think a new deep cycle would be a lot cheaper than the replacement truck might be. :jester:

Well today I loaded the truck up for my drive to Utah. Got it all loaded except for my guns. I refuse to leave those in my truck over night. I then drove 2 hours to class where I sit now. I'll leave at like 5 am for the 12 hour drive

Got a new battery, the wife came along soooo we made a compromise. I did get the top shelf starting battery, but not the deep cycle. It's all good, got the battery and the rear brake pads she needed and saved about $40 total. Not a bad day.

Autocraft Gold. Get an extra 100CCA's. May not be THE best replacement but for the price and where I live it'll work just fine. Truck starts so much faster. Now I just noticed my temp guage quit working. I think its the sending unit. Guess I'll work on that this weekend, provided I can find the sensor.

Mine is a SuperStart or something like that, I was worried it would go last winter, but it's still "crank crank vroom" everytime. It'll sit for 3-6 days at a time this winter, I wonder how bad that is for them...

I think I'm going to go with the top shelf autozone when it needs replaced, as it has top terminals in addition to the sides for easier jumping.

When I lived in Alaska, there were times our vehicles sat for several days unstarted, ungaraged. None of the vehicles had issues restarting. Is that bad...maybe. Didn't have much choice though either. That was the factory battery and just over 100k miles, I'd say it paid for itself and earned a proper burial. Hopefully this one lasts a good long time as well.
