Yesterday marked one year since my truck got hit by a piece of metal that someone drove over. It left a dent and scratch right below the left rear window. I still haven't fixed it and feel guilty every time i see it...

If it wasn't my fault and completely unavoidable could i have gotten it covered by the insurance without having to pay the deductible?

Other than that I haven't driven her since Saturday and hopefully won't until Wednesday or Thursday!

You could spring for a 6.0 gauge set and get trans temp. Also both of those are wrong for your truck. The gear part is different for 06-07

Here is my gauge face. Actual GM Part

I see, good to know. What all is involved in getting the trans guages hooked up an working. That would be a nice feature to have.

You can buy a monitor for much less that can do way more than just transmission temp.

I was looking at getting an Edge monitor eventually and mounting it in the cubby hole in the middle of the room. It even has a back up camera system that's plug and play for it.

The CTS does. I considered it, but I'd like a bigger screen so I'll replace the radio eventually with a capable unit.

Then why didn't GM just put it in every truck? Ugh.

Who knows, but a sponsor on here can set you up.

Which monitor do you have? Is it plug and play into the obd port?

That looks like the same device that's on my brother's Duramax out back here.

Just went and fired it up this morning. Block was -17°F 48 hours ago, and now it's 52°! Craziness. Looked like it was pulled from the bottom of a lake. Totally soaking, dripping wet. Fantastic for the electronics ...

Ran it for a bit, and got it up to 135°, just to burn all that condensate off.

I would like to also check out app based monitors so I can just use directly from my phone, a friend used to have one on Lexus IS300 and it was pretty cool.

I don't really tow but it would be nice to view transmission temps and stuff like that.
