2- disagree. aesthetically maybe (and thats subjective). i like the storage the column shifter brings. its up out of the way, unlike a console shifter. there really isnt any functional reason to have a console shifter over a column shifter. and a proper manumatic should have paddle shifters, so gm's column shift gear selector is a moot point because even a console shifter should have paddles on the steering wheel.

 

6- so long as it isnt integrated into the rear bumper like the dodges. a body lift on that just wouldnt look right- or if you want to change the exhaust for any reason. and it should be optional across the board, not standard on upper trims.

 

 

Completely agree. Paddles on the wheel are how selectable autos are "supposed to be." I think the buttons on the column shift work good though. "Bump Shift" on a console belongs in Mazdas and Altimas.

 

I kind of like dual exhaust, it was the best thing about my first truck when I got it. I'm really happy with the Magnaflow on my stock pipe though, and most people who really want dual exhaust probably would want a more aggressive tone than the factory duals anyhow.

Paddle shifters should only be on cars with real twin disc type transmissions like those used in exotic/super cars, period. I still think that, and awd, are two HUGE things missing from the Corvette.

 

None of that shit belongs on a truck though. This coming from the owner of a truck that can literally be driven stupid fast, too.

i agree, the manual mode is just stupid to me, i cant stand when cars with manual modes automatically upshift or down shift when your rev to high or are in a high gear.

I love those twin clutch gearboxes. Hope they get more common and replace the awful cvt as the efficient trans of choice.

^ I think it's a little less linkage. I still prefer my cupholders and storage to it. It isn't that much work to lift your arm up and move the column shifter.
