I want that minutes of my life back

No one said to watch it

No one said to watch it

Cable guy still here. Nearly 3 hours. And no idea why I'm missing one channel in each room. They tested my wiring, bypassed my wiring, and replaced both of their pieces of equipment, and no sign of my TiVo being bad, because both TiVos started doing it on the same day, but different channel. TiVo says zero signal for the channel. Just that channel. Makes zero sense. For a minute it worked great. Then it disappeard again. When they tries something in the other room. The channels operate on separate frequencies so they are at as much of a loss as I was trying to figure it out.

How do you lose 1 channel?

That's what everyone wants to know. Disney jr in one room, Nick jr in the other room. My kids two favorite channels or I wouldn't care.

He said this is the last thing they can do, trying new cable card in the other room. Nothing else to try. If they doesn't work, I wonder if I can cancel my contract.

This is the half the reason we got it. Even Nick jr has some good educational shows now. We are commonly shocked at stuff we find out they learned from these shows.

Well, he is done, he said everything here is working great, so tomorrow they will have main line guys inspecting the main mine near my house but he is pretty sure it will be a packet switching problem, so I should expect a call from their HQ engineering Dept in the next few days(after the main is checked), since he thinks that is likely the problem. It's a switched digital channel. The really odd part is I got it without the Tuning adaptor activated, and that isn't supposed to be possible.

I'd bet the receiver manufacturer did that on purpose, so you have to buy a second receiver. Of course they'd pick the kids channel to get the kids riled up, which then gets the wife riled up, and you buy another.

Never had an issue in 12 years with my Dish Network, until they came and forced an upgrade to HD receivers & dish. Now the VCR can't record, and the way the guy hooked it up, my friggin surround sound wouldn't work. Guy was no help. Took me hours to figure out I had to split the sound and video wires off the RCA cable, and plug vid only into the TV, and sound only into the audio receiver. Also, when my parent's came to stay here in their camper while their house was getting remodeled, the coax cable carried no picture. They had to use the over-the-air antenna, which was fickle at best. I would've had to buy 200' of RCA cable. WTF.

They can't leave anything alone, whether it's TV or automobiles!! Drives me friggin nuts!!!

Wait, you got a degree at the age of 14? Or is your profile wrong? I'm guessing it's not wrong because I've been around here for.....too long.

No, it wasn't box for sure. I TiVos as my own DVR boxes. They have quick mode, commercial skip, better interface and some other cool built in features. Problem is getting the cable company adaptors to work correctly. And it saves me $400 a year of crap rental charges.

Thinking if I can finish out school and get a good job that the truck will be getting a major overhaul. We plan on moving farther south out of this crappy rust belt so I'm thinking the bed and cab will be coming off, or at least the cab will be lifted up enough to have the entire frame sand blasted, and repainted by a professional with the best coating I can buy, and the bushings will be replaced as well.

Well, they want to say it's TiVo related since their equipment checked out ok. Hoping I don't get charged a bunch of fees because they decided it's not their fault. Not sure if so should just start renting their crap or what

Yeah, that might be worth the $400 per year they charge, with all the headaches they give you(probably on purpose) for using a superior DVR. My wife is already upset that we will lose commercial skip. TiVos is fantastic since they don't care what the networks think. It saves a few minutes per show over just fast forwarding. And quick mode is great for sports. Cuts sports down by a third.
