I figured they don't. Nothing has changed for 20 years - it's only got worse, and trends indicate it will continue to do so at a blistering pace.

That part I can deal with, I guess - what I have a hard time accepting is the downward spiral of component quality, as costs of said components hit the stratosphere, yet quality heads straight down the toilet. It's really getting ridiculous. There used to be a distinct line between cheap aftermarket parts, and OEM parts. Not anymore. Hard to say which is worse today. They just seem to not want to keep their stuff running a minute longer than the warranty. Now with computers involved, they can program the thing to self-destruct, and nobody would know. Lots of us suspect it, but how can you prove? What a world ...

Numerous mechanical calculations have to be done for a part and it's placement as well as cost factored in.

I'm sure it isn't easy, but things sure seemed a whole lot better 40 years ago. Half those vehicles are still on the road today. Highly doubt my Silverado will still be in that timeframe ... unless I get really motivated to keep fixing it every single year.

I'm just disgusted with all of it. All I see is junk, day in and day out.

My question is how does the poor come up with 600 million dollars to spend for Hillary? And the top 1% can only spare 240 million for Trump? Of which I hear over half of that was his own money.

George Soros, more than likely ...

Hillary spent either $1.2 or $1.3 billion! Trump was under $700 million. Trump didn't need to spend all the extra money because the media did it for him. He played them perfectly.

Didn't you hear... Clinton had the vote of the "educated" people.

Got to drive around in about 4 inches of the white stuff last night for the first time since April/May. I'm pleased with how the Michelin tires did. The Diesels are pigs on snow and ice because of all the torque so good tires are a must and 4WD helps too. I do not like the traction control. This is the first truck i've owned with it and I don't think it's worth crap. I'd rather have the G80 rear diff and 4WD if needed vs traction control. But sadly I have traction control and not the G80. Oh well. The truck might end up getting repossessed and then I don't have to deal with that anymore. But then again I would have to deal with not having at truck again and being stuck with a car until I can raise enough $$$ to buy a truck on my own and not finance anything for the next 5-10 years while I get out of the hole for having a repossession. Life's a bitch sometimes. Had to laugh and shake my head at some of you fanboys/dumb rednecks out there who think you're tough sh*t because you have a LED light bar bolted down to the top of your truck or in your hood somewhere. There were a few idiots driving their trucks around on the streets with their LED bars on last night. Not a very smart move and a sure way of getting a ticket. I don't care what you do off road, but when on public streets, you sure as hell best stick with the regular lights.

Thanksgiving is coming. Along with the family you can't stand.

I am to the point I just tell them the truth. Life is better when I don't have to put up wth them. Family gatherings became more annoyance and stress than any benefit, so best thing is to get away from the offenders. AmIrite?

Engineers don't care. I had the pleasure of being stuck in business class with a Lockheed Engineer. I just happen to be a hydraulic tech who worked on a Lockheed airframe. It was 6 hour flight and I had access to alcohol. He found out what pain they cause the techs, and I saw a little into why things are designed the way they were

Don't lump all engineers into one category. Lots of "design" engineers think anything can be manufactured

AMEN but if you want to keep your wife happy you have to put up with em. Probably a good thing I am divorced yet at the same time I think my beloved ex didn't care much for big social gatherings either. I still love her and miss her.
