those things are death traps. Tell Budget to stuff it! Go with Penske. Decent international and sometimes Freightliners.

I don't have any experience with the bigger trucks but I used Penske for the move back to NH which was an E-350 Ford. Truck was quite new, like 5k miles. Truck was well kept and the people at both pickup and drop off were much better to deal with than UHaul. Obviously a different end of the market but I'd use them again.

When I worked for WM, we ran Volvo cabovers in the city. Those trucks got absolutely POUNDED day in and day out. Over 1k stops per day, on roads the would make a 3rd world country look like paradise. I gained a ton of respect for those things after that job.

When the contract ended, Casella won it, and recruited all of us to jump ship, they bought spankin' new International conventional cab units. Not even a year in, they started having all kinds of problems, mostly emission system related.

I've got a set of pistons here out of one of those trucks that just melted down, thanks to the emission crap.

When I drove for Con-Way, they had a fleet of Sterlings. Basically a rebadged Ford, but the CHEAPEST POS you've ever seen. Whenever I'd push the maxis to release the brakes, the whole dash would flex about 3".Interior reminded me of a child's toy. Total crap, but they kept those things running quite a while. They had pretty good CAT & Detroit engines in them.

Dad drives an International where he works which is over the road hauling milk. He hates it. Everything about it is cheap and flimsy.

This is what he had when he owned his own truck. Had a 500 CAT in it. Much better truck than the one he had before it with a 400 Cummins.

Went to the gun show here in Orlando. Went rather late, but still got reminded why I don't go to them anymore. Used guns priced more than what I can find new on sale, or even regular price online. Hell some were more than gander mountain or bass pro charge. I haven't kept up with reloading supplies but dang, powder has gone up. Last 8lb jug of bullseye I bought was around $120, saw $175+ and that was the same people I bought from a 4 or 5 years ago. 1lb jugs I saw as high as $35. Primers were $30ish which isn't horrible for recent times. Not too many private sellers, or holster booths. I guess I'll be dropping $100-$200+ with alien gear soon, just need to wait and see what buddy wants so we can combine orders.

I decide to climb up on the roof this afternoon to try to troubleshoot the 1 set of lights that aren't changing colors like the rest of the strings. No luck after trying a few things. The wife decides to put the tree up tonight, and sure enough a box labeled ornaments contains a few boxes of the outdoor lights that are the same as the troubled set. Go figure.

Today I laughed as the neighbors put up those whimpy cheap projector lights that projects lights up onto the house. Ho Ho Ho. And now I am in a good mood cause da broncos lost in OT to KC. That will keep people humble around here for awhile :) woohoo! No I am not a pro football fan I just get tired of all the BS around the water cooler.

Can't believe I'm saying this. Drop off my truck to get the bedliner spray in.. they drove me to Enterprise to get a rental truck a 2017 ram 1500 crew cab.. man the inside is so much nicer then my 17 and so far just 18 miles it's getting great gas mileage tomorrow I'll be putting like 150 miles on it it's a lot better than I thought.

Yeah, Ram builds some nice stuff.

My brother bought a 1500 a couple months ago (or so), and my dad bought one last week, after selling his '09 Duramax 2500HD- they're both done with GM after a long list of expensive issues.

I'm stuck with mine. The way I see it, to get the most value out of it, it has to last me 40 years. Wishful thinking in this day and age ...

I just have to make it 5 more years and it's exempt from emission testing. Won't have to worry about fixing check engine lights after that .. if there's anything left of the body and frame by then.

Celebrate the Sandusky school

Yea really. I despise Penn State, but it seems like everyone around me loves them. No idea why.
