4x4...what a difference

So, the new truck I got has 4wd (specifically got WT to get the floor shift). Took it into the woods to stare at deer over the long weekend. Man, sure is a world of difference. I'm looking forward to not having to use chains as much in the snow. I've had about enough of that. Frankly, I know people have their gripes about the GMT-900s. But man, I've noticed it is a lot stiffer. The frame just doesn't flex as much as the 800s. I like them.

Yep I thought the same thing the other day. Really liked my GMT800 but the 900 is a step up. Cant wait to see/try out the new K2's

Ha! I doubt you will use chains at all in snow. Mud, maybe but I doubt it. They are pretty capable. I pushed snow with the bumper no problem with my '07 GMT900.

You know, snow. The stuff the former infamous mayor of my fair city used to love so much. "Bitch set me up."

which levelling kit?how long did it take you to install it? and did you get your tow in re calibrated?

I put the Zone kit on my truck, but I went with the full 2" front and rear lift (my truck say almost level from the factory, just the leveling kit put the nose in the air).

I don't know about the Silverado, but on my Sierra i removed the lower lip under the front bumper. This helped with the appearance but more importantly gave me an extra 1 1/2" or so of clearance before striking something with my bumper.

Those two mods alone completely changed my confidence in my truck. I mostly drive old logging roads, but occasionally need to drive down trails that are pretty gnarly.

***on edit: on ANY leveling kit you will need to have the alignment reset, and it depends on how much, mine needed more than "just the toe", caster was also thrown out a bit.
