Very nice!! Did you use the add a leafs in the rear, ride glide leaf packs or just leave it stock and add the block?

I second this. I don't tow anything ( don't have anything to tow) though curious if others are adding leafs or just going with the block

If you go with adding leaf instead of using the blocks that come with the kits, how do you know how many you would need?

I plan on towing and carrying with my truck, my last truck i added the leaf and it gave me extra carrying weight (reason i chose leaf vs block)

Reading some of the specs on the leafs, some state 2 or 3 inch lift in the back.. if you go with a 6" lift, would adding 2 leafs keep the truck looking level? is that even recommended adding more than 1 leaf?

I dont mind so much the rake after its lifted, as long as its the back end that is slightly higher than the front. dont like the look when the front end of the truck is higher than the back..

I mentioned in my previous post I went with the BDS full leaf spring replacement (ride glide leaf packs), so no blocks other than the stock block and you can see in the pic the rear is higher than the front. They are made to keep the same towing capacity as stock and give the rear about a 1" higher rake.

The add-a-leaf from BDS I believe gives the same stance if using the big block from the kit.

The block alone, seems like the back ends up even with front, from what I can tell. Some trucks looks even a little lower in the rear.

Finally a good sunny day where I can take some pics of my truck finished lol. Truck looks awesome. How is the gas mileage?

Question for those 6" BDS lift owners for half tons. Does it give your truck a perfectly levelled stance? Are you using the 5" block supplied with the kit? I'm asking because my 4" BDS on my 2016 Silverado 1500 has a small rake, and I'm a little OCD about it, would like that perfect levelled stance. I'm running the 4" rear block supplied in the kit with the fox 2.0 shocks on my 4" BDS LIFT. I would like to upgrade to the 6" lift by buying the 6" struts and 5" block but if it's Still going to have that small racks then I'll probably won't.

Ps- does anybody else notice that on their BDS lift?

Thanks

the BDS/Zone 4/4.5 kits have slight rake, the 6/6.5" kits sit about 1/2" high in the front.

So if I just upgraded my struts to the 6" struts, and keep my 4" rear block would that give it a perfect levelled stance since you say the 6" sits a little high in the front?

youll be about about 1.5" higher in the front. Because with the 4" kit with 4" blocks you're .5" high in the back and you go up 2" in the front you'd be 1.5" of lean (nose high)

I have the 4.5" Zone and I ordered it with 3" blocks and I'm .75" higher in the front which looks dead level IMO

Like wildchevys said, it is about 1/2inch high in the front, mine is right at that in the front with my 6inch bds struts and 5inch rear blocks, but the only way you notice that is if you measure. To the naked eye it looks dead level. I'm also very OCD and I can't even tell.

The gas milage I'm not 100% sure about yet since I haven't recalibrated but...I can tell a significant difference. The DIC is saying around 13.5 average, for me thats a 50/50 split between city and country on my drive to work and back. I'm guessing once I recalibrate that like most on here i'll be seeing 15ish somewhere or around there. I took a 300 mile trip last week after it was finished and was doing better at highway speed just cruising, the DIC got back up to 16.5-17. Ill post later when I get the tuner and fix everything lol. Over all its not bad though. I went from 1 tank a week to 1 and a half.

What's your current setup vs your upcoming setup?

I am currently running a zone 4.5" lift with fuel 20" wheels on 35s.

I will be switching over to a mid travel suspension and some 17x8.5 wheels on 35s. Goal is eventualy have some more body, engine, and interior mods

I also just bought mcgaughys 7-9" black SS kit. And tires and wheels 35"nitto trail grapplers and 20/9/+18 cali offroad Americana wheels (not a fan of deep dish rims) I have a 2014 High Country all this will be going on I'll be posting pictures at the end of the month. I do have a set of blisteen shocks laying around I was thinking about putting on for the rear but not sure if they will work I gotta do some more browsing on the blisteen thread.

    • Maybe.   Maybe.   I don't want to be the one that needs help and can't get it when I need it. That is a legitimate complaint, and how they respond to those legitimate complaints is a big red flag to me.   I don't care how good the product is their conduct is subpar. Some people are fine supporting that for the sake of getting the product they want. I'm not.   To be fair, I haven't seen or touched their product in person to determine for myself the quality of it. I'm not offering any opinion on that either.
    • So if you do nothing and they act on their threats like death to America or Israel. And possibly a nuclear war. Whoever survives wonders why didn’t they listen? Or we do something like every President has said they can’t get a nuclear weapon. We’re at the 10 yard line and it happens the time is now or never. I think I’m ok with paying a little more for gas for awhile. It’s a shame that we now live in a world that’s so polarized.
    • 4-5-6 fails due to design.  Not enough clutches and not enough piston to clutch surface area.  Also the backing plate can bow.     I'd say converter is two part.  The design of converter chosen, and factory tuning of it aka slipping it in D (also L6) for AFM purposes, as well as locking it up in 2nd gear, sometimes 1st, also it will partially lock up at light loads.  All because CAFE/fuel economy requirements.  A billet converter on the stock tune might hold up better, but would still be subject to the stock tuning and how its designed to lock or partially lock.     The most baffling part to me, is the 2007-2013 6L80s didn't have the failure rate the 2014-2018 ones do.  I've been where I work for almost 17 years now, and I recall maybe 3 or 4 of the 07-13 transmissions getting pulled for something.  14-18 on the other hand, it was at a minimum one a month being opened up.    If I had to guess, I'd say the tuning for the gen 5 engines/6L80 setup and its fuel economy goals had a good bit to do with it.  Also, it was bankruptcy time during these years, so I'm thinking some cost cutting was done for the launch of the K2XX trucks.  See also now the 10 speed valve body issues (more cost cutting).  They blow out some mesh screen in the spacer plate, undersized check ball, and the feed limit valve was aluminum and wears out prematurely.         I don't think it was the HP jump from the gen 4 to gen 5?  The 6.2 in the 07-13 trucks was good for 380-400hp during its life/states of tune, and the 5.3 did 310-320hp.
    • All this might be worth it had we actually recovered enriched uranium, a WMD, or an actual nuclear deal with oversight. This is a flub of epic proportion, and they all know it.   $5.10 at a station reporting $4.99 last week. Here we go....
