2014 at the County Fair

Finally seen one with the doors open. Really liked it. It was an LTZ, cost appx 50K which made me throw up in my mouth a bit.

The rear door cupholders are awesome. My wife even made a comment about those being really cool. I am a hige fan of the door panels they seem much nicer.

So then as I am looking things over and my son is driving it (aka sitting in the drivers seat holding onto the wheel) the chevy guy comes up (local salesman?) and starts to chat with me. This is where it gets fun he starts with the gas milage blah blah blah. I am like I am waiting for the 6.2 to come out then proceed to tell him I have a 2010 with it. He then asks me if it will be gas or diesel. Oh boy haha. I passed along some truck knowledge especially when he was touting the cooled leather seats. I told him next time the truck is on try it out and see what kind of air comes out of the vents and this is a big complaint. He then went on to say he will be notifying gm to let them know about this issue (like he discovered it haha). To easy like shooting fish in a barrel.

I then looked at a gmc they had. Not a huge fan of the plastic "fender' flares. I thought they were rubber? They seemed really loose and appears grit can easily get behind them. My 2000 fender flares were much tighter on the body.

Next up is to drive one. They will be having a drive event (they as in Chevy) at camaro5 fest in a few wks. 3 mile long test course.

I saw the first I'd seen in person in OKC yesterday on a carrier.

It seems like I know more than most salesmen (on any brand).

The price tag of the new ones totally turns me off to even looking at them anymore. My Dealer probably had about 8 or 10 of them the other day when I went to pick up my Wife's car, but when I thought about looking one over up close, and maybe taking a test drive I remembered the price tag of other ones I have seen and I decided to just drive by them.

The sticker shock is high, but if you consider all the technology that's in these trucks, and the fact they drive like high end luxury cars. The price seems a little more realistic.

Thankfully I've got some time before I even consider one...and the 08 has low mileage since I drive dad's old Buick since he's been gone.

I finally saw one (Chevy) last week. My local dealer had one on the lot. Crew cab LT 2WD for just under 40K..........really?

Anyhow after seeing one in person, I like it, didn't think I would, but I do.

Our dealer has a GMC has the 2WD SLE for like $40K plus. Plus, its the 6 cylinder.

I hate to see what the 6.2L costs with everything loaded.

What new tech that is not extra cost on the sticker.

My 09 rides great and always gets complements. Only flaw is the rear cab vent noise.

My 09 CC SLT 4x4 Z-71 (non-nav) with a slider rear window, rain sense wipes, back up alert, full leather and all the extra buttons all for 45,400 on the window. Now an SLE runs that high. I noticed the 4x4 is now a 4,000 option. All new models at GM are getting a price jump. I built an SLT '14 comparable to my '09 (i.e. no radar, lane control or cooled seats and no nav) and it was 48,000...The extra cost wipes any mpg savings over the 900s.

Not saying a bad truck just that cost is up about 3 grand +/_ on comparable models. I will have to price a double cab SLT to stay at my 45 grand figure.

GM claims around same pricing as 2013... I can already tell you that is a bunch of BS when I ordered my truck a few weeks ago. Oh well... I need a new truck, so I will pay it.

You guys planning on the 6.2 should be planning on paying 50K +++ as I'm sure you will be forced to get nicely equipped trucks ( doubt the 6.2 will be coming on base models)

The dealer let me take one for a relocate to one of their other dealerships (a trip of about 100 miles) very comfortable quiet ride, not as much pep as my 10 Denali but no slug either, the Camero that they gave me to drive back was fun :), still waiting for pricing on the 14 Denali's, hope it comes soon

Same pricing claim is based on a higher base price on the '13s. I saw a '13 sle with a higher base of $1,000 on my dealers lot and asked what gives. They raised the '13s base in late '12 or so. He had the same truck on the lot for $1,000 less on the base price and after same options added.

So the low info reviews we saw all said "gee neat truck and same base price!!! Can I now have another drink GM rep, thanks."

I have read and heard the 2014 prices are almost exactly what the 2013s were ???

They increased the prices on 2013s. My dealer has a LT regular cab 2013 that isn't even all that well optioned for an MSRP of $37k. With add-ons from the dealer the price is over $38,000!

The pricing seems pretty close to the GMT-900 in Canada, a 2014 LTZ Z71 stickers about the same as my 2011 LTZ Z71 (when you factor in the cost difference for the 6.2), but the 2014 has more tech/luxury features (hill descent control, Mylink, 4.2" DIC, power rear slider, telescopic column, 110V outlet & SD slot, front park assist, heated steering wheel, auto up/down windows, projector beam headlamps). Plus, you are getting 4-wheel disc and a larger rear axle with the 5.3.

I can't decide yet between the All Terrain and the Silverado with painted trim. Still biding time til fall. I want to order a 6.2.
