Sorry .. it's the 5.3 And Chevron gas.

What part of the country do you live in? I've noticed cold temps make a big differance.

I would bring the truck to the dealer...something isn't working properly in your fuel management system. You should have to really try hard to get such poor gas mileage, mine sips gas and averages 19 with no problem...much better if I give it half a try.

I am getting over 10 dragging my 7000lb camper. Something isn't right with your truck.

Got 25 mpg on interstate trip going 72 mph. I am happy with that.

That average speed screen is nice. I wish my SLT model had that. Must only be on Denali.

It was on the SLT double cab I test drove.

Z71 Silverado 5.3l set in Auto. I average around 14.5mpg with 100% city driving. I am thinking about taking it to the dealership. I would like to get around 16-17. Anyone else with strictly city miles? What do you average?

take it out of Auto when in dry conditions there pal.....seriously.

Having it in auto makes more parasitic drain on the drive train and lowers mpgs.

If it's taken out of auto it refuses to go into v4 unless left if m6, which seems to act just like auto if you ask me. Mine anyway, yours different?

Wait... When you say "set in auto" do you mean lauto 4wd/all wheel drive" or do you mean auto shift as in "not on manual"

Well something is wrong then, it should go into v4 just as easily in drive as it does in M6, I'm not sure that is even programmable in the ECU. I will have to look at my tune tomorrow and see.

A few dealers here where I live have changed what they tell people about fuel efficient of the truck because they don't any law suits now. Truck getting 14 mpg in city 17 mpg on hwy. anybody else posting other stuff is full of it or they haven't gotten the update or they working for GM. And onstar is part of GM and they notice it never right no matter what you do. I filled my tank up to EPA standard 6 times with 2 times for city mileage and the best was 14.5mpg with unleaded gas. 1 time with E85 and I got 13.9mpg in city. 2 times unleaded on HWY 17.2 MPG. 1 time E85 16.8 MPG. and I have 20' inch tires running green air in them and everything was checked out every time by the dealer before each test. and after it was done they did the reprogram again. So GM has no fix for the problem as of today. And before the updates I was getting 16-17 mpg in city. And this other I see on here just excuses. I got my truck back in Sep before any these problems and it was doing just fine. I talk to a guy at dealership that just bought his and he only getting 13 mpg. and spends 50.00 on gas. so explain that and its not the tires.
