GreyGhostZ71 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Don't do 4" of level. Had that in my old truck.. Just no. Ok. Thanks Grey. But what about a 4in Suspension? I like the looks of the Fabtech one. If you visit there website, It'd be the one up from the basic system with the uca's. I know little about lifts, so would appreciate your input. Sent from Tapashit the only "suspension" lift fabtech has for our trucks is the 6" The 4" is still only a big leveling kit. Unless you have to cut the crossmember for a subframe kit, its just a big level. The only true 4" suspension lifts are the zone, bds and ranch 4" kits.
GreyGhostZ71 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 (edited) There is no difference that I know of, no. The only thing would be if it has aluminum control arms. But I think they all do now, unlike older models. I think all the z71's/all terrains have the aluminum arms. Which means the spindle and tierod mounts are a little different than the 07-13 (someone corect me if im wrong) but my 4x4 high country has steel (black) arms so i have the same suspension as the 07-13 do. they all use the same leveling kit, just different sub-frame lift kits Edited May 27, 2014 by GreyGhostZ71

Mine is an All Terrain, and has the aluminum ones.
GreyGhostZ71 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Okay well that narrows it down. Mine is an All Terrain, and has the aluminum ones. If you do a lift kit, just make sure you pick the one for the aluminum suspension. If you do a leveling kit, you can do any of them. Also, if you change the Ucas make sure you specify you have aluminum arms. Sent from Tapashit

nando87 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 What's your tire/wheel set-up? The tires are Atturo Trail Blade 275/65/18 and the wheels are Strada Off Road Monster Wheels 18x9 with a 0 offset, The tires stick about 1/2" out of the fenders.

Horn1991 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 2014 Z71 Just wondering if I get the RC 2.5 leveling kit, this will be just to level the front even with the back correct? It's not an actual suspension lift? Also, if I keep the 18's - I assume I need to go with a 275/70/18? Thanks in advance.

If you put the block that come with the kit you'll have rake again, but it's not an actual suspension lift. As for the tires, idk that one lol Sent from Tapashit Gotcha. Thanks for the help! No problem Sent from Tapashit

RC 2.5 comes with rear blocks, which you can use or not use depending on if you want rake or want it leveled. As for the tire size could go tall/skinny like a 275/70r18, or a bit shorter and wider like a 285/65r18. Really just depends on the look you want for the truck.
Horn1991 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Thank you... No rake, I just want it leveled. I really like the way the 3" lift sits though.

If you go with the front 2.5" level only, it will be completely level or very close. If you want to see what your truck would look like with a 2.5" front level only and 275/70/18 on those wheels, just look at my gallery as it is exactly what I'm running right now.
Horn1991 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 SBC, that looks great. How's the ride? I see you're from Houston as I am. The one thing I worried about going too high; the parking garages in Houston.
surebuttercringe Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 The ride is definitely "firmer". I don't want to say rougher as it still rides quite well, but it's not as forgiving as stock. I don't think parking garages are an issue with just the level, although I haven't been in one since I put the level on. But I don't think it's any taller than an F-250 4x4 and those seem to fit (barely).
