2014+ Leveling Kits

Recommended Posts

All, I am in need of some input. I have a 2015 SLT Double Cab with Z71 package. I am very torn on weather or not to install the RC 2.5 inch leveling kit. From the pictures that I have seen I love the way it looks. I plan on keeping the stock wheels and tires for a while as the truck only has 5000 miles.

So here is my concern because I haven't seen hardly anything on this 126 page thread.... for those of you have had this installed for a while, have you seen any problems with suspension parts. I am worried about having to replace parts ie, ball joint, tie rod because of premature wear. I have talked to two different dealers in my area who have explained that if any associated part fails that it would not be covered under warranty. Both dealers gave ball joints ties rods and axles as examples of parts that could be effected.

Thanks in advance

Took a few more pics today not sure if they are necessarily "better", but here they are anyway.

Drove mine around for the past few weeks with the rear lowered (via removing rear blocks) but now think I want to go the other way. Reinstalled the rear blocks on Monday now looking to raise the front, but not a lot. Not looking to level it, just want another 3/4"-1" clearance at the air dam. Seems the ratio of lift for front spacers is about 2/1 so I am thinking of just cutting and drilling some 3/8" flat stock I have here and using this with grade 8 bolts to shim the front struts which should give me 3/4" lift.

Really like the look of of your truck. Tires look perfect on it. Are they noisy?

Really miss green grass! Haven't seen mine in months.....

They have a decent howl above 45mph, but I wouldn't say their loud. It doesn't bother me at all, and with the radio at a moderate level 25-30% volume you can't hear them. My wife didn't complain at all so I think that says something.

And for everyone who is considering 35's be mindful they will rub when you go off-road and start to flex while turning, if I had a 2.5 level instead of the 2.25 up front it might be better, and there is some more extensive trimming that could be done but I don't think I'm going to, it's not bad enough to justify cutting the plastic trim piece around the wheel well up front.

We've had a lot of rain this winter and the past few days have been sunny so everything is starting to pop.
