Wrong. I like the stacked headlights. That is what is on my '09 Sierra and I really like it. As for the hoppie, no. and you must have way good drugs to think they look alike.

I politely disagree. 1. The Chevy looks fine. A lot of people bleed bow tie and will buy Chevy.

2. A lot of people will not care for the LED DRLs on the Sierra. Include me on that. If I get the Sierra, I will fuse pull the DRLs. Heck, a new Honda has them and they look weak. I think halos ya, but no to the strip lights.

3. There are more Chevy dealers about so easier to get to, to buy and to service.

Anyway back on topic. tires look good. No rub even on rough dirt road etc.?? Look into the Bilsteins 5100s for a nose lift that keeps full shock travel and allows the larger tires. Great ride too.

For 2. I thought the same thing originally. I do not like the Acadia LED's, they look like a couple of fluorescent shop lights.

But a new Sierra passed me the other day & the single strip stands out & it looked good.

I'm not saying that the Sierra will out sell the Silverado. Currently market share from a GM perspective is an 80/20 split in the Silverado's favor. All I'm saying is that if you look at that number in a year the Sierra will have gained ground on the Silverado. Even though most people I know as well as most reviews count the Sierra as being the better looking truck I'm sure the Silverado will have higher sales numbers. I just personally think it's just about the ugliest thing out there in the road when looking at it from the front...

May have been a little harsh on the DRLs. Have only seen on the lot. Not moving down the road. Will see.

Your wrong. :-) Yes they both have stacked low and high beams but that is really the only similarities into opinion.

That, and the fact that they're both fugly as hell.

70/30

Solely because the Silverado is cheaper and GM markets the living hell out of it. I have yet to see one commercial for the new Sierra. Just sayin...

Beautiful truck! That would definitely be my color of choice aside from black. It has too many needs haha. I have one question. I know many people won't be trying this but has anyone tried to remove those wheel well plastic moldings? I know they are removable but I'm not sure how it looks with them off? If anyone could post some pictures? I'd love to see them colormatched as well.

not considering any lifts or levels at the moment.

Actually that is a lie I might remove my rear block to "level lower" it. If I do I will get some airbags for when its loaded.

I will remove my stock fender flare plastic wheel well moulding whatever they are.. when a company makes a set for more tire clearance Ie: bushwacker cut outs.

I am still suprised at the quality of paint on this truck!

I personally think Chevy has dropped the ball all the way around on the Silverado. I think the Sierra will take a good deal of its business away... Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

I have to agree with you 100%! I am currently driving my 3rd Silverado in the last 10 years. When the '14s first came out, I was on the fence between the High Country and the Denali. After reading everything that has been written on both, and reviewing all the pictures available on the internet,...for me, in my opinion, the High Country doesn't measure up to the Denali. I was quite literally on the fence between the two for a couple months, but the Denali with the 6.2 is going to be my next truck as soon as they come available. I am very comfortable with my decision based on all the info available at this time. The Denali is perhaps better suited for me than most, because I am a huge "bling" guy. I always add a lot of chrome, I love the Denali grill and the LED DRLs, that most of you don't like, and I hate to drive mine in the rain, much less use it for a truck! There are still two options missing for me, even on the Denali. That is "Keyless Go," like the Corvette, the Mercedes and the "RAM" has, and the shifter mounted in the console. If I were a designer for GM, those two options would be available on the Denali. I'm sure that's two things that doesn't interest most of you guys. Just another effort to let you know I tend to dance to a drifferent drummer when it comes to my vehicles, especially my truck. I do love this forum. Afterall, it is the only truck forum that even mentions the '14s, much less, has its own section.

Yep, you're dead on cause I despise those stupid keyless systems. Power buttons are for computer monitors. Cars and trucks have keys.

I'm less critical of the console shifter. I see it as a waste of space where more bins/cupholders/whatever could be but I wouldn't be totally against it. Just don't like how car-ish it seems.

Yes Mike, I understand. I have heard your comment before in regards to the keyless systems, and I can see that. As far as the shifter, I perceive it as adding a sporty flair to the truck. For me, it would help to fill up the console, because there is a lot of wasted console space with all the storage bins and compartments. Once again, I know all that space comes in handy for guys who use the truck as a truck, and especially if they use it for work. I personally can't stand to see anything loose in my vehicle console, or anywhere else in the interior.

This is one of the greatest things about the forum. I believe it is fantastic to realsize and understand how folks who appreciate the same type vehicle, but yet have such different and unique tastes, interests, attitudes and values toward it. Being able to share those differences is the one thing that makes a good forum a great forum. Thanks for all you and the other moderators do to allow that to happen.

I agree 100000% with everything. The console shifter and keyless start should at the very least be options and I would order whatever package was necessary to get them. I like the LED's and big chrome grill as well.

    • There are probably a few threads talking about fuel mileage but this one seemed to fit the stats I have seen based on my typical local driven route but with different outcomes based on different seasons/temperatures. I have a few hundred pounds of items that consistently ride on the truck at all times such as a bak flip cover, rubber bed mat, tools and extra fuel so I would be something over 8100 lb without me in the truck. All these examples are based on a 100 mile round trip to a town plus running around town so maybe 110 to 120 miles in total for a trip. Using regular fuel and I assume it always has some ethanol in it but don't know the percentage they blend in. Also speed wise I am going at 62 mph and non aggressive driving although less speed yet if its crappy winter condition roads. I am going by an initial reset of the computer generated fuel use numbers averaged over a couple of thousand miles or so for each weather/season so they may be more optimistic then actual hand calculated numbers. Basically this is painting a picture of doing the same drive but seasonal conditions and temperature being the major variable to the end result. Oh and although I am in Alberta Canada, I am converting it to miles per US gallon so there is no confusion.    So winter time it gets cold here, no real surprise there and the roads can be clear at times but also often have packed rough snow or are are driving through loose snow ( they do a poor job of plowing the highways ) and yes this includes the extra idle engine time due to trying not to freeze ones butt off. 12.7 mpg is what I was getting during the winter months on average.    Then during the spring when it was around the freezing point and the highways are clear of snow, I was getting around 14.25 mpg.   Summer time, I have been getting around 15.15 on average but certainly some of the trips showed quite a bit better fuel mileage, so much depended on how much or little I had driven around town and number of engine restarts after sitting for a while at each location. But stating a best fuel mileage trip to town pretending that is what the truck gets on average is fooling ones self for sure !.      As I said in a different post, I had driven a 645 mile trip over a couple of days stint to a different destination then these other daily to town examples above, and was done during the summer with nice weather and not bucking a head wind, also keeping at 62 mph and its a rolling landscape type highway drive ( this isn't southern Alberta or Saskatchewan flat lands ) Hand calculated fuel mileage in this case though and it came out to 17.65
