How did you choose between the Sliverado and Sierra

I fell in love with the GMC initially, but then I saw the Silverado headlights and actually liked the front end better of the Silverado. Plus my family has bought like 18 vehicles from the Chevrolet Dealership, so they made me an offer that was hard to say no too!!

I have always been a Chevy guy for trucks. And probably would still be if not for the local GMC dealership. They took such great care of us with my wifes Acadia then Yukon I decided to give the Sierra a try. Not to mention the fact the local Chevy dealer is not my favorite.

Yep...but they made GMC for trucks as Chevrolet was for cars. Then Chevy (GM) saw the opportunity to make more money with trucks branded Chevy as well.

Personally I have seen the Envoy hold up better than the Trailblazer, Yukon than the Tahoe...just my view and that's why I roll with GMC.

Yeah I got that, I don't think the OPs intent was to start a bowtie vs. a GMC war. I for one don't like the cheese grater grill on the GMC along with the Homeboy LEDs, but that wasn't my reason for buying my Silverado. I paid 42K for a LTZ, 2lz, Crew Cab z71 4x4, GMC dealer couldn't even get close.

Glad your happy with yours, as I am with mine.

From a completely opinionated stanpoint - the GMC looks better, from matter of fact standpoint, it comes w/ some little things you can't get in the Chevy (like the LED's and bed lights), may not make a difference to ALL but to some it matters.

For me the GMC was always the higher end truck and the Chevy was more the working man blue collar truck, of course that's all perception and they're both very similar, but the GMC was always a little bit "nicer" - hence why, up until now, there was never any ultra high end Chevy like the high country, but there was always the Denali for GMC.

I just think it looks better, alot of it has to do w/ the grill/lights, can't stand the bug eye lights on the Chevy and I also don't like the gold bowtie

Not my intent to start a "bowtie vs a GMC war" lol. I just stated my opinion. When I wanted to buy my Corvette I got the bowtie ;-)

As stated above, the GMC just has a little more touch of class. Actually if GMC also made the Vette I would have gotten that one lol.

To me the new Silverado looks like the Family Truckster that Chevy Chase drove when he went on vacation...

I preferred the looks of the silverado. Plus its about $2k less for same features.

But I agree they both look great. My toughest choice was color - im back in black!

I would say get what ever truck makes you happy. I bought the chevy because it reminds me of the 90 model truck. My last truck was a 09 gmc and the chevy dealership gave me a super good trade in value. You should look at them side by side to help you decide.

Nope. Not high. Just not a fan of the stacked headlights...

I was literally on the fence between the two for a few months. I have owned two Silverados (2010 & 12). After hearing and reading the early info on the High country, I decided I wanted to upgrade from my current ext. cab Silvy. As time progressed, i unconsciously started to compare the High Country to the Sierra Denali. At the time, there wasn't much info on either truck. This whole process started in May, however, by early August i finally made my decision to go with the Denali. My decision was based on several things. First, I liked the Denali grill much better. I am a big fan of bling and that grill makes the front end for me, personally. The chrome at the bottom of the side windows, the ability to reconfigure the instrument cluster, and finally a lot of the discussion on this forum from you guys with previous experience with the Denali. Finally, the idea that the Denali is and has always been the upgraded version of the GM truck line, works for me. As I mentioned, I am the typical "mall cruiser" with my bling. I almost never use mine for a truck. I have now ordered my 6.2L Denali in Sonoma Red, with a TPW of 10/14/2013. This will be my first experience with the Denali, although I have owned 7 trucks prior to this.

I have always had chevy trucks in the past.... many of them over the years. This year I got my first GMC. The reason.... because of the All Terrain. LED lights, fender flares, special interior, and wheels made the AT hands down the best... for me.

Exactly the same as my reasoning

Haha, same here!! I love it! I like the Sierra as well but it immediately reminded me of a '99 Ford Super Duty, and I worked at a Ford dealer in the late 90's. Didn't need any of those memories drudged up.
