Anything that is not fuel or air will make the truck stumble, if you sucked a big gulp of the stuff in, sure it would almost stall but i don't think, at the velocity it's being pulled in, much would get stuck on the valves. Puff of blue smoke or white smoke (steam) and if it was real bad an engine code. empty the can, start it up, may run rough for a couple seconds but it would be back in business. Remember, you aren't hitting the back of the valves with tiny droplets, you actually wash the back of the valve with water/oil but, i suspect the water would be the predominant liquid. At least this time of year in the colder climate

I haven't read every single post. But I seem to get the idea. But I have a question, if I installed a catch can, will this affect my factory warranty? I barely have 1,458 miles on my truck.

I've been to the dealer for 3 oil changes now, most recently today in which I also had them perform the intake induction cleaning and none of the times have they mentioned anything about the catch can on my truck. I can't see it causing any issues.

So, I'm at 12.5k miles without a catch can. Should I do anything before I install one? (Trying to get the funds for one right now.)

Notice anything different after the cleaning? How long was the service ?

Am I missing something? You are posting to not trust Tracy Lewis and your logged in as GDI REP with the name Tracy Lewis?

Be careful of the tact that Elite engineering is using as they are now selling the RX catch can as there own and the guys that bought RX have been upset with tracy lewis and this explains it why he is peddling his snake oil behind yet another hidden name. I cannot believe that Elite would stoop to this level, but I guess people will do anything for money and even hire tracy lewis AKA RX scam artist. To anyone that does not think it's true go and read the responses and posts by SC2150 and Tunerboost and GDI TECH he has been everywhere peddling these elaborate stories about oil ingestion and DI motors are all going to fail unless you run our magic catch can. Now they have even devised more of a scam with running dual valve catch cans on non boosted engines and getting in zero vacuum situations in the manifold to explain why you have to tap into the throttle body with the second vacuum source.

You can search all these usernames across all the boards and see the writing is 100% consistent just do the name search on google

here are some posts that tracy and his vendors use to sell the catch cans

https://www.linkedin.com/in/tracy-lewis-a7ba843b this will uncover when he says something related to being ase or a master tech or worked for gm or being responsible for any professional race teams that he just uses the photos for extra weight to his BS and the slick talk about microns and engine efficiency or maybe you must have better ring seal if your car does not move that much oil through it's PCV / Let's not forget all the years of experience with these tests against other catch cans. He still touts tests that were outdated and companies have since made much better designs that his or whoever he claims to be.

Just a heads us as this is meant to uncover deceptive practices that Tracy lewis is doing and representing companies while taking our money and never looking back.

Whoever wants to attack or flame me it's OK I was one of you who believed everythingTracy said at one time until I fell victim to his practices.

GDI TECH is a FRAUD as it is really tracy lewis trying to sell more of his garbage and for everyone being mislead you need to search the forum usernames SC2150 and tunerboost and GDI TECH

............and just who the hell are you??

So oil ingestion in DI engines is a joke?

no it's not, but it's so easy to deal with and no where near as serious as well as how it's being blown out of proportion is exactly what I am referring to.

So just how easy is it?

Actually, I don't see a catch can being too difficult as a solution.

There needs to be some policing of users on this forum. Elite is clearly marketing their product and they support the forum. I see no issue here at all.

I've long suspected GDI Tech is Tracy but I hope it is. The guy is super nice, helped me with my install when I called him with a question, and the RX catch can works amazingly well.

And GDI Rep, whoever you are, my catch can IS mounted just off the valley cover and it collects a ton of water in the winter and no water in the summer which supports the theory from Elite and GDI Tech that you will catch more water when the weather is below 40 degrees than you would if it was warmer.

And catch cans aren't just advertised on this forum by one guy named Tracy. There is information all over the Internet about DI engines, valve coking, and catch cans helping the problem.

Now if I had to guess, I'd argue GDI Rep is one of the disgruntled former employees of RX that hijacked the brand and started selling cheap Chinese knockoffs. Losing the lawsuit are we that you have to turn to the forum to attack the product?

I just hate how the market falls prey and the fact that everyone gets sucks into needing bigger is better mentality and that's it.

Funny you should say this. I just received my E2-X yesterday. I had emailed (Elite) questions about which can to get. I wanted the dual valve thinking bigger is better. He told me I didn't need it. I asked if two wouldn't be better than one. What, there wouldn't be any benefit at all?

I have a stock 5.3L. He said, frankly you do not need to spend the extra money, a single is just fine!

Imagine that! :)

Hey, he didn't sell me the E2-X. I wanted it. Also whether I needed the clean side separator or not, I wanted that too. Not once did he tell me which model can to get. When I was told I didn't need the dual valve, I decided on my own.

To be honest I'm not sure if the cleaning made any noticeable difference. When I got there and asked to have it done the service writer said oh good thinking asking to have that done, you'll notice the difference. Lol. But I always have the Diablo tune on my truck and remove it before I go to the dealer so that makes the truck already drive differently than I am used to so I can't really say.

I dropped the truck off at about 9:15am and picked it up at the end of the day but the paperwork had 11:42am on it so I'm guessing it didn't take them that long. It ended up costing me $101 and that was with a $20 off coupon I had got in the mail so it was a little more than the $99 they quoted me over the phone. I also asked what the recommend interval was and he said about 30-35k miles. Since my truck is just over a year old with about 19,700 miles on it I think I'll try to stick with about once a year having it done. And be very diligent about emptying my catch can in the colder weather from here on out.

I'm out for the night and hope everyone has a great night.

As we have always done for the many years we have been in business, we'll take the high road on this poster and his comments. But I can tell you, the comments this poster has made, and his allegations are completely false and without merit. It sounds like he has a vendetta or personal issue against someone, an issue that he should probably take elsewhere as his comments are not helping anyone here.

A;ways going to be unscrupulous people that come onto a forum to manipulate for their gain.

Any that read my posts know clearly I contribute a ton of good factual information to help all members. Admin, go ahead and put me under the Elite Engineering supporting vendor designation if that helps all. Elite Engineering is a supporting vendor here with a reputation above most for quality and service. I am not a paid employee of them, but have tested each of their products in great detail the same as we test most every advertised solution or "cure" for GDI issues, and I go into great detail on what worls and what doesn't. Including how to properly use upper induction cleanings. Cheers!!

Just emptied my E2-X after being on the truck for 3 weeks. I have a company vehicle and really only drive the truck on the weekends. Usually it does have time to get up to temp. We had a few days that dropped into the 20's, but mostly it's been 35+. Pretty nasty and smelly concoction came out. The truck went 22k without a can, so I fear the damage has already been done to the valves. Going to start a slow Seafoam / Amsoil / CRC treatment (haven't decided which one) before the next oil change.
