Has to be something routed wrong or check valve stuck closed (blow through each to confirm they open and close properly). If your truck is a 2014 and up, Follow these instructions here:

Yep that's where I got the idea and everything is connected correctly and the valves are free and clear. IDK

Weird...never heard of one not catching anything. Keep us updated, and if you can, post some pictures of all, especially the drain being closed and not clogged (sometimes what is caught is thick and can clog the drain....take a wire and push up through the drain when open to try that).

Yeah, something doesn't sound right. One thing you might try, on the drain valve, open and close it a couple times with the handle, we have found they sometimes stick and it will appear the Catch Can is empty, If still nothing, the hoses must not be routed correctly. You WILL trap oil.

So, I've got to ask. It appears Tracy Lewis has his own line of catch cans out now...and the "monster" can looks identical to Elite's Ultra can. Are they?

Elite's can:

I had one of the original RX cans and loved it. I recently sold my 2007 Classic and it went with it. I believe in what they do and need to get one on my 2015.5 Yukon with 20k miles I just bought. What are your thoughts on the two cans?

Mine did until I used hose rated for 350 psi.

That's weird, I wonder what difference that makes? My can is still working good though, crazy how much it collected in just under 1,000 miles so far!

The hose will collapse if it's just regular vacuum hose or fuel line. That's what causes the whistle or noise. As soon as I got some strong 350 psi hose no more noise.

Mine also makes a little bit of a noise, you can hear it if you stand up near the front corner of the truck.

Any idea if this is putting some kind of strain on the engine if that hose is collapsing a little?

If it doesn't totally collapse it should be okay. I had ovaling of the hose, noises and smell though which was enough for me to change. Replaced with good line from AutoZone and no ovaling of the line, no smell, and no noise.

It would be interesting to put a vacuum gauge on the line running into the intake plenum to see exactly how much suction is actually being generated by the engine to warrant the use of 350 psi hose.

These engines suck, but I don't think that much.

Typically the more pressure a hose will handle, the thicker it's sidewall will be and more resistant to collapse from vacuum.

They made vacuum gauges for mileage coaches at one point...the higher the vacuum, the better the mileage. They were actually kind of neat...more of a novalty, but neat to watch.
