The stuff in the can will freeze if there's a lot of moisture/water in the drained fluid. I left it outside in an oil drain pan overnight one time and it was solid ice the next morning. But with that being said freezing should only be an issue if your can is too full which would be a problem anyway because you don't want it to get too full and the mixture get sucked into your intake.

Installed mine at 3,174 miles. After just two days and 57 miles driven. Half country roads and city miles with a couple remote starts since its been around 0°F here. I had about a shot glass worth. I was very surprised at the amount collected. At this rate it'll need to be dumped every fill-up. Its baffling that GM would consider this amount of oily residue to be passed back into the intake acceptable. I mean just look at it sticking around the upper rim and to the bottom of the can! I've been down that road with my wife's former Acadia. Peace of mind that I'll hopefully avoid those issues with this truck.

Wow that's alot I installed mine at 2400 so far have about 100 miles and I thought 500 was too soon by seeing urs at 57 miles smh I can only imagine mine.

Drive about 100 miles yesterday and this morning I checked the can. I have just enough to cover the bottom. Amazing how gm figures this much oil is ok to be run back through the engine.

Granted, most of this is just condensation. Still good to get it out of the motor tho.

I agree. There was more sticky oily residue clinging inside the can which would have ended up on the valves than I would have imagined after only 57 miles.

Got my can installed today. Mounted it to the front support bracket off the fender. Did have a little hiss. Pushed the bottom line on to the engine more. Got rid of most of the hiss. Still had a little. I'm thinking it's the air moving through the can lines. Read some other threads and some have modified the stock piece but I'm going to get a few clamps to tighten everything up a little more. Have a drive from Illinois to Florida here in a couple weeks. Want to make sure everything is good.

Just drained my RX can after a little over 1000 miles. I was shocked when over 10-1/2 ounces drained! After letting it sit for a bit, the mix was about 50-50 water to oil, and it was tan in color. It has been the coldest month since they started keeping records over 125 years ago so I'm sure that may have something to do with it.

Does anyone know how much the RX can can hold?

In any case, I have no doubt about the effectiveness of the RX catch can. I'm really glad I installed it.

cooler the can the more vapor will condense on the inside and that is why I'd like to hook mine up to the cool side line of my A/C. Not a big deal for people up north, but here in Florida I think it will help catch more stuff almost year round.

It says 1 QT on their website which is 32 ounces but I think that's total can capacity or interior volume so you have to account for the filtration portion at the top. I'm not sure what the actual capacity of the safe reservoir area is but I've been draining mine every 750 miles or so in the winter to ensure it doesn't get overfilled. I really wish RX made their cans like some of the competition where you can see how full it is or at least unscrew the bottom to get an idea of how much storage capacity you actually have to gamble with.

So is the RX can pretty much the one to get, I think you have all officially scared me into getting one lol?

I wouldn't think twice about it. It simply works!

Based on what I've read after countless hours of research on the internet, it seems to be the most effective on the market. There are other ones that are just as great too. But there's a link somewhere where someone tested multiple cans and found the RX to catch the most "stuff" out of all of the cans tested. That sealed the deal for me. That and pretty much every Corvette or Camaro forum was also recommending RX.

    • The LCA bolts are NOT a one time use fastener.  GM does not have them called out as such at all.   They are torque plus degree, but not a one time use TTY.  Nowhere in the service manual does it call out for replacing the LCA bolts for being one time use.  Think about it.  The LCA bolts are now the alignment adjustment point, instead of the UCA bolts like the prior generation.    A bolt that is meant to be adjusted for alignment...would it make sense to make it a one time use component?  How would you get an alignment done in the first place?  You couldn't.       Also.  What TSB exactly?  There is no TSB that I see for 2019-2026 for over-torquing LCA bolts.  There was a PI, PIT5533C, but that covered 2014-2018 body trucks for re-torquing LCA mounting bolts.  But those trucks to a 2019-2026?  Not the same, so PIT5533C does not apply.
    • Nice looking setup!  Is this the kit you got?  If so 211 is a great deal!  https://accessories.chevrolet.com/product/trailering-camera-system-86584184   My TT came with a wireless rear camera but it only works on an app or a separate screen they sell so I've decide it's not worth the hassle since it keeps disconnecting and with wireless android auto it's a hassle trying to connect my phone to it.  So I've been thinking about adding the GM camera so it's integrated into the rest of the camera views.   I also found this one which seems to be a different PN & retail price that explicitly states the invisible trailer view https://www.shopchevyparts.com/chevrolet/2024/silverado-2500-hd/electronics/85825715-silverado-2500-trailer-camera-transparent-view-requires-trg-camera-provisions-p-92326971.html?sort=2a
    • You didn't say what year it is. I have a '17 5.3 6l80e & used the Range AFM delete for a while to stay in V8 mode. Then I got a local tuner to preform a HPTune on my 6l80e & love it. He did a AFM delete, torque matching between engine & transmission, removed converter slip and mild engine tune that helps the transmission. Gears shift better, at specific speeds, no hunting for gear, no 2 gear down shifts, no spark plug miss feel. Drives like a different truck. I highly recommend it.
    • I know this old thread but I just replaced the left side engine mount on my 2018 5.3 2wd and it was a pain. A quick search showed that it was probably going to cost around $600 to $900 to get it replaced. I researched how to replace it and decided to do it myself being that I'm retired and have the time and tools. What should have taken a day took me 4 days plus a couple trips to my chiropractor and some blood. Why a mount failed at 150k miles is beyond me but such is life.   Peace
