2002 Sonoma Vortec 4.3 How to dismantle/move wiring harness going acro

I have an 02 Sonoma 4.3L, I'm going at the intake manifold gasket due to the Dexcool issues. I have everything apart except for the wiring harness that goes directly across the top of the engine. It is taut, no slack to tie it off out of the way and I'm not much on the electrical stuff. Should I pick a spot and cut the wires and splice them together afterward, using connectors? Is there a simple solution that I'm not seeing? The intake manifold gasket has to be a common project on all GM 4.3 Vortecs due to the Dexcool degrading the gaskets, so it seems this problem would have come up often and solutions could be found somewhere on the internet but I've found no mention of it anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do NOT cut anything!!! That intake will slip right out from under that harness. I have done literally 100 of them it will slide out

I don't know about just "slipping the intake out from under the harness" but I just finished an intake man gasket replacement on a 2000 GMC Sonoma with a 4.3L Vortec.

All you have to do is find the main fuse/relay box under the hood. (located on drivers side fender well)

Remove the 3 bolts holding the fuse box to the fender.

Flip the fuse box over and look at the bottom.

Find that particular harness and unplug it from the fuse box, a 7mm socket worked for me.

Then move the harness out of the way and go to work on the truck.

Hope this helps...
