Question for you guys. I was looking at Rough Countrys 2/4 drop kit & all you essentially do is relocate the struts to the under side of the control arms using the provided 1/4 plate. Can this be done without using the plate? I ask because Ive lowered the rear with 2" shackles & removed the blocks & want the front a lil lower now. This seems like a free way of doing so. Also, does anyone see any negatives fron relocating the struts like that? Seems like it would put a lot more stress having the struts mounted like that, thanks guys!

Use the McG spindles. I've had them for 15k, no alignment issues and truck handles like stock. Only issue is you lose some turning radius.

I,have the bilstien 5100 shock in the rear at 7" I'm going to go 8 soon. Will I be OK with it or should I get a shock extender

Think you will need the extenders or shorter shocks. Get under and look how much of the shaft is showing.

I agree with Wuznme... Shock extenders would be the cheapest route....

Can you elaborate on what you did to get the front 2" drop with your aluminum front suspension. I was going to order that same JDM kit but would rather go your route. Could you elaborate and do you have any pictures?

It can be done without the plate with no issues... I have a 4WD and DJM is the only company that claims that they have a kit that will work (2515-2/4). This may be true for some but it wasn't for my truck. I bought the kit and the control arms did not have clearance at all. After calling them, the said due to my truck having the cast aluminum spindle, I would need to shave the lip of the spindle and change the ball joints.... Needless to say, I packed it up and returned the kit.

I relocated the strut without the plate which gave me my 2" drop in the front along with shackles, shocks, and removing the block to lower the rear. I pick my truck up on Tuesday and I've already driven it 400+ miles with no issues and it still rides like stock.

I think he just moved the bottom strut mount to under the control arms. I would buy the 2" DJM control arms I have a 4x4 with the aluminum front suspension and I'm running the 4" arms and a belltech flipkit out back set at 6. I don't have any issues with 4wd and rides great (for being dropped)

However, as I said in my previous post, I have a 2016 and the DJM Control 2" arm did not work for my truck 4WD Silverado so do your research on your truck and call DJM prior to purchasing those control arms. I had to send the kit back after about a 30min 3 way call with Jeff from DJM.... I was refunded but it still cost me $180 buck to ship the entire 2515-2/4 kit back to DJM due to the weight of the entire kit and warning, based on my experiences this past week, DJM's customer service sucks...

^^^ Agreed!!

I called them 3 different times about 3 different issues with their flip kit and the response all 3 times was "wow never heard that before" even sent them pictures and they still had no answers. I boxed all their shit up and sent it back.

If relocating the mount under the control arm (did this for about 11k miles) I would suggest some aircraft bolts just to be safe and on my CC 6.2 it netted 3-3/8 of a drop.
