Thanks....yes  that helps. I ran 305/40’s on my Yukon. Was thinking 24’s but 22’s aren’t out the question either

I will tell you that I already rub on the fender liner during turns on 22s, which would get worse on 24s unless you go with a narrower combo. I also rub on the top of the inner fender on large highway bumps. Again, larger wheel/ tire will make it worse.

I currently have a 4/6 drop using 275 55 r20 (31.91 inches diameter) duratrac, winter season of course, with just enough to cause no rubbing at all. So I think with a 24 rim on a 4/6 drop, the ideal would be to use a 275 35 r24(31.58 in dia). Maybe to go for 285 35 r24 (31.85 inches) would make it close to the Ideal tire diameter of 31.91inches BUT maybe there is a risk now of rubbing on FULL turns due to widening the width close to 1/2 an inch.  Of course 305 45 r22 would rub at 32.81 diameter, not to mention the 12 inch width already. Though, stance wise, it really looks nice. Pick your poison, if you will.

100% can confirm. That's what I've got on a 4/6 and I do rub in turns and on top on big bumps. When turning it only rubs the liner, so not a big deal, but I need to stiffen up the front so I don't rub on bumps so much.

Looking for some info on drop and tire sizes. I’m thinking 24” reps and maybe a 305/35 or so tire, not sure how much I want to go down and look good but not be too low. My truck is currently lifted and just looking to change it up some anyone have pics of a 3/5 and 24’s with a 305/35 tire or something close?  Pic of my truck as it sits now

I’m presently running factory 22” wheels with 285/45/22 tires.

Can I safely go to a 305/45/22 tire on these 9” wide wheels?

It is probably safe, but when I tried to do it with Yokahama Parada Spec-X on my 9.5" Black Rhino wheels, Discount Tire would not install them because the Yokahama's minimum wheel width for that tire was 10". Pretty sure the Nitto 420 was the same. Move to a 20" diameter and 305's are fine.

Go to the tire manufacturer's website and check their specs, they should have a recommended wheel width for the tire size. Will depend on the shop whether or not they will follow the "recommendation". Some shops are strict about it, because of legal reasons, and some aren't, as it's a "recommendation".

As a general rule, any kind of corporate tire shop like discount tire, Firestone, etc is gonna follow the recommended specs for liability reasons, but most mom and pop shops will mount up just about anything you want.

This is a 3/5 drop from IHC Suspension running the factory original rims with  275/55/20’s. (They are 31.9” tall, 10.8” wide)The front rubs very slightly with passengers and the wheel turned all the way to the left only. A rubbing issue is also going to depend somewhat on the brand kit you use. If you change lower control arms, you’ll lose some turning radius with certain brands. With a bone stock GMC Sierra 1500, you should have 1-1/2 turns of the steering wheel.

Finally finished lowering my truck.. Ended up with a 4.5”/7.5” drop with the factory 275/55/20

they rub like crazy. Getting a set of 255/50/20 later this week along with an alignment. I’m extremely happy with the stance and those new tires should net me about another 3/4”-1” of drop.

Have you tried 4/7 instead before getting new tires for now? My thinking is based on what you’re looking at 3/4-1” gap between fender and tires.

      I have a Retrax pro that I first had on my 2020 chevy and transferred it to my current GMC.  It stays in the garage most of the time, so hard for me to judge it's long term weather resistance.  It still works perfectly, been very durable.  It doesn't see oil patch usage, but it's not a mall queen.  It keeps most things mostly dry (small leaks) and the security of it is enough to slow someone down but not keep them out for long.  I would buy one again, it works for me.

      Thanks to the convenience of Amazon, I was able to get a few things done to the truck today.  I installed Carquest Premium oil and air filters with five quarts of Mobil1 High Mileage 10-30 along with a quart of Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 I already had.  The latch for the flip up center console lid was broken so I replaced it along with the power mirror switch.  I found my push retainer assortment this morning and reattached the plastic under the bumper and it was only held on with a few screws and retainers.  Then I programmed a new remote keyless entry fob so I can lock my dog in the truck when I take her out with me (I've got to keep the air going for her since it's been in the 100s).  Finally, I ordered some LED interior bulbs and replaced the reading lamps.  The front lights are working fine while one of the back lights only works intermittently and the other not at all.   While under the truck, I found the source of at least one of the noises: the sway bar links need replacing.  I ordered a set of Suspension Dudes links with Code Red bushings.  Never heard of them, but they're made in the USA and have decent reviews.  While making yet another Amazon order, I went ahead and added a set of front tow hooks.  I went with red, since that's the color of the sway bar link and bushings and it should look decent enough on a black and chrome truck.  Speaking of which, it doesn't bug me much, but the passenger side mirror has a chrome cap while the driver side doesn't, so eventually I'll make them match one way or another.  Oh, and I ordered a $20 TPMS reset tool.  No idea if it will do anything for my sensors but it was cheap and will work for the Ford Transit Connect as well.     For tradition's sake, I ordered a new oil change wrench.  I kept the Snap-On 9/16"x15mm GM wrench I bought when I was 18 in the 2006 GMC from the time I bought that truck until the truck was lost.  While I was tempted, there's no need to spend $80 for a new SO wrench, or even $50 with shipping for a used one on Ebay.  I just bought a Duratech 15mm extra-long ratcheting wrench to do the job as needed.  It works, and if I like that wrench enough, I'll buy the set.

      The recall is for exactly this issue - those drain holes combined with the limited environmental capability of the tailgate electronics card inside the tailgate were a problem. The “safety issue” was the potential for the tailgate to spontaneously open, but all kinds of tailgate misbehavior can occur from water contamination of that control card.    There is no real fix yet. The initial recall just disabled the tailgate. Later, when parts became available, they would replace bad parts with new parts of the same bad design. My dealer is going nuts because the few times I let them get their hands on my truck, my tailgate is off due to a slide-in camper installation. They really want to cut my tailgate wires, but I won’t give them the chance. I will let them get their dirty hands on it when a real fix (redesign) is available.  My tailgate, which works just fine with sealant plugging the drain holes, will remain safe in a dry storage crate until then.

      Yes your absolutely right, I been looking at the 4 inch BDS one and it acutely states you can use the stock 20’s just not the 17’s or 18’s, I also didn’t realize that with my 275/60r20 stock wheels I’m already running 33 inch diameter wheel setup lol so I can just run my stock wheels and tires atleast to start.

      I would expect that to be lift-kit dependent.  If the kit has interference issues w stock wheels, then the kit/manufacturer should indicate that somewhere.
