It's called Davenport Wood, looks the same as Mineral Caster, guessing it's the Chevy version. But there is probably grain differences or sue color differences or they wouldn't offer both.

I recently did the swap on a 2015 with the gm USB cable and only have charging at the front 3 USB ports. I have everything functioning except for data to the front USB.

#4 ground, #6 power. 1 photo shows back of 3 slot USB outlet (front). Other shows the very expensive connector you could use.

I've finally found exactly what I needed to try and make this work. Im using 12v to the pins listed and still no power to usb. I dont have a 14-16 silvy. Im trying to get the usb to charge only on the jump seat i installed in my 2000 silvy. Do i need to have the usb connected also along with 12v to get it to charge? Just need to be able to charge. Please advise what needs to be done. Thanks guys

Yeah, seems that the module won't work without USB being hooked up to turn it on.

I've got the '15 HMI module and had the spare USB port on it, still only get charging on the front, haven't dug in to it yet.

You know, I should've just done that from the start. Lol. I did one by one since I hid my center console wires (under carpet) and couldnt tap into them at the moment.

However I was using an 18650 bat with dc-dc step up module. (no proper power supply) I'll give it a shot and report back results after Uni.

So Darth, I tried it this morning and it didn't power the usb. :nonod: On the other hand it was making some buzzing like sound. So it probably works or its damaged. :tear:

If its only possible because it needs a special signal then ill just toss it and put aftermarket replacement.

Would be badass though if it was stock.

That doesn't sound good. Also, the plug on that module is upside down so make sure you get your power and ground wires on the right pins, I felt like an idiot on that one.

I'd hit up eBay, bet you can find a replacement for a couple bucks. And I know for a fact that I forgot to hook the USB cable back up last time I had my trim off but I haven't tried the front USB to charge since then. Just remember reading on this thread somewhere that it still required it to be hooked up on both.

Hmm. I'll give er another shot otherwise I'm gonna have to put this puppy down.

I did look at the connection from the seat and did see a thick red wire that stood out and a black one that is like the rest. Maybe it is flipped since I just copied how the pic was.

My original crazy idea after getting this seat was to install the full console in my 2000 if I could make this work just splicing a bit of wire and a voltage stepdown if needed.

The full blown crazy ass idea was to research if a 2015 dash would fit lower years like my 2000. Yes I'm a bit insane. ?

Though I'm going to reference this if my next truck doesnt have the full console.

Sorry if my question has already been answered, but would or does this cable work to get both charging and data to work in 2016 year models? I've got a 2017 and looming into doing the swap and wondering is the USB-HMI cable (Part # 19303284) would work in my case.

I've searched through a couple different vendors and it seems the best price for all 6 parts is through GM Parts Direct at $644.85 with free shipping. Does that sound about right or is there a cheaper option that I have over looked.

Thanks Black-Z71 and everyone else that has contributed to this thread! When I get around to this I want to do a detailed write up with pictures but with spring around the corner I might not find time.

Could anyone tell from expirence if it would be effective to remove my current jump seat make the swop to the console and them reinstall the console later on? I don't want to be rushed to do this conversion and would like to break up the install over 4 or 5 days but if doing so leads to that much more work, I'll find the time to do it in a day.

Thanks

This is how I did it. The first part you can do ahead of time is remove the ash tray and install the front bracket. Then I removed my jump seat on a Sunday and reinstalled the bolts on the passenger seat (I have a crew cab so I just needed to tilt the seat forward to get at the wiring connectors). I drove around with nothing between my seats for the week while I took my time integrating both wiring harnesses after work. Then installed the new console with the combined wiring harness the following weekend. Worked well this way. The most time consuming parts are removing the old harness from the jump seat, taking the harness tape off to work on the wiring and doing all the soldering. I didn't want to rush this part and it worked out well. You just won't have any place to put your coffee for a few days :P

I can't speak to the data for the front USBs on a 2017. I think there was only one person that got both data and charging and he had a 2016. I ordered all my parts on eBay and paid about the same including shipping. You can find some deals though on certain parts...

I have a 2016 Siverado 2500, and I had all the USB ports charging and supplying data. I originally ordered the parts for the 2015 model so I would have the SD card slot inside the console, but was unable to get the CarPlay option to work. Today I tried installing the USB port from my original jumpseat and was able to get CarPlay to work. So for anyone with a 16 or newer, it is important to order the correct year parts so the USB ports are configured correctly.

Great and thanks for the advice! I'll probably follow your lead and take my time, although not having a cup holder for my morning life blood (coffee) could force me to rush things a little lol. Thanks Black-Z71!
