Here it is ... Going to have to spend the weekend trimming, it's alright. Should've gone with the full 2" spacers and perhaps I would've been ok. Oh well- no regrets. It's starting to take its form :)

Does the BB tune void the warranty? I'd love to get one on my 5.3.

I guess it depends on who you believe...some say "yes" some say "no". It would also depend on what you wanted to get warranted, i.e., is it related to the tune or not. Personally I decided to roll the dice and haven't regretted it for one minute.

What does a tune consist of? I'm use to VW's where you can mail in your BCM or whatever and they flash it and send it back. Not the case with the Silverado?

Yes, the answer is...it depends...I had my Silvy into dealer yesterday to have the HVAC calibration performed and asked about this. He said it depends on the connection to the mod for whatever fails. He knows I like to "change" things and has been very supportive in the past. But GM is requiring more information now on warranty claims. As an example, he said if I had lifted my truck and then complained about a broken spring, then it possibly would not be covered since I had modified that particular part of the suspension (in this example). He also said that if, during my calibration update, they noticed that my software had been modified more than their records show, my VIN would be flagged. But this does not necessarily mean the total warranty would be voided, but it does cause questions. In the event of a failure, they would See that my VIN was flagged and look to see if there was a possibility that the tune caused the issue. He also said GM started this policy because of Deisel engine owners who caused failures that they could directly attribute to the tune's parameters. I asked if I turned off AFM, how this would affect the warranty...he again said...it depends. And since all warranty claims have to be reviewed by GM, it could make it complicated.

Not trying to cause controversy, just thought it was interesting conversation and wanted to pass it on...

By the way, no mention of my Diablo tune during this calibration (returned to stock before taking it to them). And I didn't probe any further...

Removed the front air dam.... Might trim down the taller part in front of the wheels and re-install I'm not sure....

Next I think I might do some serious de-badging... The 4X4 on the fenders has gotta go for sure I'm pretty sure I'm gonna ditch the big @ss GMC on the tail gate, remove the SLE and replace with a small GMC. Also I really want to have the GMC on the front of the truck either color matched to fire red or a different color. Also would love a AT Grille.

I am on the fence about a tune being that my truck only has 5000miles makes me worried if I did it too soon since I never had a tune i am mainly looking for better fuel economy not sure if that what "a tune" delivers mainly because I hear more often about increase +HP & +TQ.

Installed a 30" bar today off eBay, $75, Wireless wiring harness from Arsenal Offroad, Amazon $25. Install was fairly straightforward. Bar fits in pretty snug. I'll put some night shots up in a couple hours. e58c7a0b5095b47f23e10f88d2e22fdb.jpg

Thanks 6.2 Sierra for pointing me in the right direction!

Depends. If your headlight spontaneously busts into flames, then that's not something the tune would've effected so you'll get warranty coverage. However, if your engine suddenly blows a piston or something, then fingers will be pointed at the tune. So it's just like anything else that you modify, once it's modified, then that one part is no longer warrantable unless you find a really cool/chill dealership

I have no idea what they do but whatever it is it sure works!!! As far as mailing off the BCM, I believe that you can do that but not through GM but I'm not sure.

No need to remove the BCM. Typically, a device is connected to the truck's OBD-II port that has canned tunes in it and the capability to capture or "data log" certain parameters from the truck. The data log file is sent via email to a programmer who determines the proper settings for your type of driving with your truck and sends back a custom tune that you load into the truck via the tuner device. They can change running parameters such as turning off Torque Management, AFM, etc. or change shift points. Here is the link to Diablosport which explains this. Blackbear has a similar process. https://www.diablosport.com/products/intune.html

Put a steering wheel cover on cause at 25k the steering wheel leather was already starting to show signs of wear. Figured it would help with resale value or trade in value down the road lol

Oh wow! How much did that cost?!? Do you have to strap her in or does hold on or what. Either way my wife would kill me if I got a bed liner like that. ?

Added new drop in bed liner to my CC.
