Nope, purchased my own, went to the dealership and had the gm paint shop do it. Perfect match.

I believe all said and done $145 out the door and on my truck.

Thanks.

I didn't think it was an option to have GM build the truck that way using an order from. Thanks for clearing that up, I thought I missed that while looking into ordering a new truck.

It would be nice if more trucks came colormatched from GM. I did notithe 2016's are available with that option. I am a huge fan of the colored front end and can't stand the chrome.

Looks good, it's only off a little from matching the OEM paint perfectly. Front bumper and the grille surround are a little yellowish against the factory paint in that picture.

I would definitely take it back to whatever body shop you used and have it redone, that would bug the heck out of me.

It must be whatever it is you're viewing it on that's off, your eyeball, or perspective, or picture. It's also funny how you're editing as I am typing......

I have serious OCD and if it didn't match it would bother me to no end. The body shop I used is the GM body shop for this region. They use they exact paint according to the paint codes via GM. For this reason, they don't like to paint individual pieces because they have to mix large quantities. So when it's time for Onyx Black, that's when I get my parts in...lol...I have a few more parts going in soon.

BTW, to prove my point....my truck is a Denali....the bumper comes from the factory as Onyx Black....

Despite FedEx being absolute trash in my area the fenders arrive without damage. Plus it also helped the box they were shipped in was huge!

I think you may be a little confused as to what I was talking about in my post when I commented about paint.....I was commenting on the white GMC, not your black truck you posted after my post about the white one.

My eyes are fine, it's just the grille surround and bumper appear yellowish against the factory paint on the three different devices I viewed the posted picture on. Not trying to offend the owner, just pointing that out. It looks much better than it would if it were left chrome or flat black though.

Note to self : don't edit a post to correct spelling, or to add another sentence after rereading a members post after looking closely at the picture.......

The black truck YOU posted looks good, my black 2010 came with the painted front end when GM offered that "Appearance Package".

I would suggest getting 3M protection film applied if you can, it will save your bumper paint. I didn't have it done and it now looks like shit! After this winter I am having the bumper repainted and the 3M applied.

Tonight I did a couple things to improve command central!! I added the Driver assist handle and installed a pro clip phone mount with an additional dc outlet with a apple power cord which I ran behind the screen up to the mount. All cords are hidden out of sight besides the very end that plugs into the phone.

Very happy with how both mods turned out.

No offense taken, was confusing since you quoted my post.....and I am with you on getting the bumper painted again this spring....lots of gravel on the highways lately, and idiot drivers who can't seem to stay between the painted lines....I would do XPEL rather than 3m.....it's on the list for this coming year....have xpel on the hood and lights and it's pretty damn tough....

Reinstalled the passenger side rear seat after finishing the mount for my JL Audio Cleansweep and then tethered my under seat sub box in so that it doesn't move around and kill someone. Then I took my 7 1/2 year old son for a ride and taught him what an automotive stereo should sound like. His ears are still ringing.

I ordered the drivers handle. I have wanted one since I got the truck

Yep its one of the first mods i did. Helps keep the leather from getting all dicked up from continuous sliding across the seat. It kills me that this isnt standard on all trims. I saw a new basic ram work truck that had one stock. Smh. Its just another one of thise things gm does to cut corners on production costs. Kind of like how the k2s dont have lights under the hoods anymore Edited by dbcooper

    • What’s missing in all this is patience and investment in the future. Buy a 170K starter home. Ten years later sell it invest in a more expensive home. Eventually you’ll have a 600K home and pay starter home payments. Buy a starter car. Maintain it well. Save the payments after it’s payed for then buy an expensive car if you desire. Buy a tumbler make your own coffee, pack your lunch. Cook your own dinner. Most importantly take care of your car.
    • People mislead themselves. Statistics are highly useful indicators.   Here's the tie-in to this thread. If an oil sample tests shows a wear indicator of 7 using cheaper ACDelco oil, and a wear indicator of 2 (lower = less wear) using a particular brand of Mobil oil, and wear has a linear relationship with engine lifespan, anyone could assume that Mobil is reducing wear by more than 50% (let's just say a 200% reduction for you red state people trying hard to do math) which leads to increasing engine life by 2x. Perhaps, in a vacuum, by itself, when dreamed by AI.   Yeah?! That's what the statistic is saying, isn't it?   No, it isn't. It didn't come out and say engine life is doubled. That's a very bad assumption, and a case of severe myopia by assuming something potentially untrue about the only data point in focus.   Average cost of a new car is 50k. You bet it is.   The median cost of a new car is more like 35k. Expensive cars are skewing the perception that "average" now means a $50k price of entry for a very average automobile. And that's not true. People who don't understand statistics twist the living heck out of them to mean all sorts of things they don't actually mean.   "Average" new car payment is $1000/month. Yep, it is. And in that number are all the $35k new car buyers who bring significant equity, and the $25k new car buyers who finance the car for a month just to get a rebate, and then pay it off. Know what isn't in that number? All the payments made by people who don't finance a car.   Picking one's own data point (don't have a car payment, never paid $50k for a new vehicle, my house cost $170k, I afforded a middle class lifestyle on $4.50/hr) is just a data point. Just like earning $25/hr in an area where the median home price is almost $1 Million is a data point. In fact, it's a lot of data points given that 80% of the US population lives in/around major cities. They're not idiots; the vast majority of them do it to make a living because that's where the big money is.   The highs have become higher, lows have become lower, and how your personal mileage varies is not truth for an entire country. At the same time you can't NOT acknowledge the data. While it doesn't paint YOUR personal picture, it certainly tints the reality that you also live in, as does your single data point.
    • Glad you had success with it. I did as well, but about 5-6 months later it returned. Tried again, same result. This was after the dealer made several attempts and never even got it to slow down.
