I have a 2016 Chevy LTZ z71. So I assume it would be the same. But I would like to change out my backup and license plate lights. Is it just a bulb change? Or did you have to put on a resistor? Could you tell me the part numbers of the bulbs so I can be lazy and not do any research on it? Thanks in advance.

Jim

check you owners manual , dealership . 2015 chev takes 921 (back-up), 194 (license plate) , or just pull the blub and look at it . just change blub, NO resistor .

That's right. I used Philips 921 for the back ups and cargo lights and Philips 194s for the license plate. If you are looking to do the back up lights as well as the cargo lights and 3rd brake light you will need 5 921s.

I used a black, aluminum housing, no lense, 16mm in each step. I used a dab of red loctite on each one to keep the nut from backing off. For the 16mm if you have a 5/8" drill bit it works perfectly.

When you have the step removed you look at the top and have the two mounting holes there. I just made a straight line between the two then measured to the middle (approx 3 inches) and drilled it. Simple and worked perfectly

Wired in with the led cargo lights in the bed, do not wire them in with the license plate lights as you can get a ticket for that bc you can't have white lights on in the rear while driving

Thanks for the info. This is something I will definitely look into doing on mine in the very near future.

I'm thinking if they are positioned at the back of the step they Would be a great additional back up light. Any reason you didn't wire them into the back up lights? Or any reason they couldn't be?

I put mine on the back of the step. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/157013-what-have-you-done-to-your-k2-today/page-394?do=findComment&comment=1762767

When I do the cargo with reverse light mod they will go on in reverse.

I angled them a little bit down and out.

I plan on doing some type of LED cube for additional backup light

I have 2668 miles on my truck and I am getting these SR-A's taken off. I have zero traction. I called Goodyear headquarters and they gave me a full refund. I just need to pay the difference in price. So now I have wrangler All Terrain adventure with Kevlar. Hope I like these.

What did you tell Goodyear to get them to do that? I'm both surprised and quite intrigued as I have less than 2500 miles on mine.

Told them the truth of how unhappy I was with its traction. I told them I had no confidence in my truck do to their tires. They wanted to keep me happy. I still can't believe it myself. But. I had to get a different Goodyear tire and pay for the difference in price and pay for mounting and balancing at a Goodyear dealer. But on the upside I was able to add road hazard and lifetime rotation and balance.

Well headlights are next for me, had the HID's hooked up incorrectly before so gonna take another shot at them! Maybe I should actually get that deer damage repaired first though, hmm....

Damn you hit a deer in the High Country, any pictures of the damage?

Pushed the front bumper in on both sides (hit two deer). Broke driver side headlight housing and part of the grille. Barely noticeable unless you look. Fixed the broken headlight with JB Weld PlasticWeld lol I don't think I have any pictures. Some chipped paint up front as well

Well was finally able to save enough to have a productive weekend.

Installed an RC 2.5" level upfront

Removed front air damn

Added Method Mesh 17x8.5 0 offset wrapped in Toyo ATll 285/75r17's

Installed 14" Magnaflow exhaust dumped after the axle

5% Tint all the way around

Installed XB Led fogs (man were those a PITA!)

Attempted to install a 55w Silverado Spec kit from TRS, but had a bad ballast.

(still waiting on a K&N intake)

Hit the first one at 45 killed it on impact. Didn't do as much damage as I thought it would. Second deer I was going 55 and saw it coming across and slammed on my brakes, it was a love tap at around 20 lol
