Got my muffler swap done. Magnaflow part 12909 swapped and left the flapper and rear resonator on for now as i have 2 small kids. Not sure how long i will leave it this way. Still is really quiet, Especially under normal driving. Wakes up a little under hard acceleration but not as loud as i would like it. I may clamp the valve open and see how it sounds to get an idea of what i may need to do to liven it up a little more. Still waiting on my airraid mit to arrive.

without the resonator, 3 inch pipe out the back and a 4inch tip there is no drone in cab and it sounds great! You'll have a little whistle almost like a turbo! As long as you don't add the Cold Air Intake like i did it'll stay pretty darn moderate/quiet! With just enough growl to make you happy and enjoy the accelerator:)

I clamped the flapper valve open and its amazing the difference in tone. A lot deeper and a little louder rumble just on start up. I have not had a chance to drive it yet to hear what it sounds like with afm engaged and with various throttle applied. So ill report back a little later after i have driven it for a little bit.

UPDATE!!

I have taken the truck on about a 20 minute drive with the flapped clamped open. A mix of city and highway. Much more agressive tone that I am looking for. Not really any drone when afm does kick in but the afm does not seem to kick in as much. I think I am going to leave the flapper in and just leave it clamped open and if i get tired of the tone i can remove the clamp and quiet it back down. I can have the best of both worlds this way if need be.

Got my 'Seatbelt Recall' 2015822B Performed. After much bitching back and forth with GM we basically settled on them replacing the whole side of the seat.

This is what the part looks like if you order it from the factory right now. It is better than the hackjobs .... somewhat and at least is a clean machined 'cut'. Still not 100% satisfied but at least I can say it was not sliced up. I know the service manager did his best in forcing GM to replace the entire piece at their cost so I am grateful for that, at least we stuck it to GM and made them cough up and spend hours of manager & regional manager level labor rates because they cheaped out trying to save a buck.

"Lo barato sale caro." The cheap comes out expensive

I'm doing the same thing when I bring my truck in for the airbag recall. I didn't realize they were hacking up the interior pieces of trucks for the seatbelt. Then I came on here and saw the posts. Sure enough mine looked like all hell.

Arn't you the fellow who had the hail damaged truck too with fiberglass hood? Your poor truck has been through the ringer, and then to be sliced up it just a sick joke or twist of irony.

Hope they can clean it up for you! Its looking much better now!

I am but I bought my truck for half off because of the hail. Don't feel too bad for me. She's almost ready for Line-X. Probably next week!

You going to line-x the whole thing? I love the look of that hood btw.

Yes, Line-X premium so it'll have a gloss finish. Then the grille inserts and a couple other odds and ends will be painted a gun metal gray.
