Prototype skid plate from SDHQ here in Arizona. Retains the OEM tow hooks. They are also making one with no holes if you want to remove the tow hooks.

Got any other pics? Further away and from the side? Looking for exactly this.

How do you like that stereo? I installed the exact one in my 2006 Sierra. I did not like it. I did have the top of the line pioneer single din head unit in there before. I was not crazy about the alpine after having the pioneer in there. To be fair I think the alpine has more control and may sound clearer or maybe a little better, but the pioneer would crank up much louder, not a lot of distortion at high volumes either. I left it in my truck when I traded for my 14 and installed the pioneer in my wife's Honda Pilot. She loves it.

I'm tech friendly so it's fairly easy for me. I went from the stock radio to a Kenwood GPS unit. And the sound was the same compared to stock. But with this Alpine the sound is much clearer and seems more crisp. I've tried the lower end units and they are ok compared to stock. But I wanted a little better sound without having to get a processor. And they had a $100 off deal at a local dealer here.

OK SMC I have a ton of questions but not sure I can name a post that big lol.

OK so...what do you do for Nav?

Did you need anything extra to get satellite radio working?

Do the USB ports integrate or work w the radio ..ex..iPod or such?

Any cutting to the dash area? Can you throw the stock one back in or is the inside cut up?

I know you can adjust chime volume, lights/horn on/ off while exiting or entering truck w the stock radio...assuming you lose that here?

Do you have any amps hooked to this?

Just wait. I'm thinking of more ?s.....[emoji2]

I either use my phone or my Garmin GPS.

As far as I know most aftermarket radios need another piece for the satellite radio. But you can use the stock antenna.

As for the USB ports. You can rewire or splice into the factory USB location.

With a double din you have to cut the dash.

The original parts can go back in but it never fits quite right after you cut inside.

As far as I know you lose the ability to change the sounds from getting in and out.

I currently have one amp right now for my subs. But will probably ad an Alpine ktp-445a for more power for upgraded speakers.

Lol. It's awesome so far. Works flawlessly even compared to the note 7 I had to give back.

Cool! My work only allows the iPhone7 or Galaxy S7. I love the Galaxy but really wish I had the Pixel. I keep hearing nothing but rave reviews.

Damn hid bulb turned purple on me yesterday morning. I ordered a new pair from TRS. Went to leave work and the bulb went out. Dammit. Hopefully they get it out soon.
