I ordered my shackle block from Amazon. I ordered my billet shackle directly from Royal Hooks.

The shackle block is available directly from Agency 6 for 5.00 less than I paid on Amazon. The only reason I ordered it from there is I have a gift card to use.

No but I've been there many times snowmobiling. Coldest it's been when I was there was -39F.

I was just near there last week in Ray, MN . Had to deliver an antique dining room set to one of my Wife's clients. They don't call it the icebox of the nation for nothing.

Ask your Mother how cold -40F feels. It sucks.

Ah nice. We snowmobile upstate New York so I've felt that before riding. Definitely not something I would recommend lol

I've been Republican all my life.  Who knows where my money really goes but I do know that last year I paid in excess of $30,000 in payroll taxes personally if you combine all the Fed and State Taxes.  Then add on top of it usage taxes like gasoline and our lovely 9.75% Los Angeles sales tax rate (less in Ventura County interestingly enough).  I also employed 36 workers full time for the entire year with a full benefit package at the prevailing wage rate (highest locally).  401k Retirement, H & W account, Full medical no copays $5 copay prescription to this day (its expensive ungodly expensive).

I think its more than likely "Someone has to pay for all the large payouts from the multi million dollar lawsuits and settlements that cripple local, county and state governments"

Everyday in the paper I see another payout for $3 million, $10 million, whatever millions.  Someone has to pay THOSE bills too, and that someone is me and the rest of the working people who pay Taxes.  In fact it affects anybody who pays taxes.  The total amount of taxes I paid personally and for my 36 workers, and don't forget, the corporation has to pay the matching taxes on the FICA (social security and medicare), was ENORMOUS.  Every week I have to pay the government $10-15 thousand dollars and this is JUST the payroll tax reporting.  I also have to pay someone to make that payment and do my payroll and accounting. (I can't wear every hat every hour of the day, been their done that learned my lesson).

You might think drug dealers pay no taxes.  Interestingly enough they use gasoline like you and I, they still pay that tax.  Sales tax, they pay that tax.  So we should be clear when we speak and not be so vague.  Drug Dealers supposedly pay no payroll taxes.  So if they did, would it make them legit?  Obviously drugs are illegal so we can't condone an illegal profession, but what about all these new Cannabis employees.  I wonder how they are paying their payroll taxes if Cannabis (i.e. Marijuana, Weed), is still Federally prohibited.  I'm not in that industry so I don't know if all these dispensaries are paying payroll taxes or not, or if some are and some aren't or what % do or don't.  That is the job of the local Office of Finance and Tax Regulation (i.e. Business Licenses).  But I can tell you, as I drive to work, I pass maybe fifty to one hundred of these dispensaries with the large neon green cross outside and you can even smell the stuff from the street sometimes.  Are THEY paying taxes?  Because I SURE the hell AM.

Tax accountant here. They do still pay payroll taxes just like any other legitimate business. They are considered legit businesses for tax purposes. The government will always take more money if they can hence why there's never been a shutdown in Colorado of any of the businesses. The federal gov does realize they helping more than hurting. My personal opinion is tax it like tobacco and alcohol.

Ok, my order has been placed. Do you have a locking hitch pin? Seems like that whole rig would be tempting to someone just to take off with the thing.

Yup. I’ve got a black Curt locking hitch pin. Look around on Amazon, they’ve got a several different types that are inexpensive.

Not much you can do to protect the shackle I suppose?

I have a monster swivel hook that is held on with retaining rings. Not a lock, but not many people carry around retaining ring pliers either. 0fa07ddd04431806c740c06a62d98804.jpg

It looks like the shackle you’re getting using snap ring pliers so you shouldn’t have any problems. I put a few drops of blue loctite on mine so someone couldn’t use their bare hands to remove it.
