I got a new color matched sharkfin antenna on ebay. Was $17 shipped. I noticed the new color matched one has a cut on the rear of the seal. My 2018 factory black one has a cut on the front with a inner straight flap of rubber to help keep water out.

I took the 6 screws out and swapped covers to keep my original antenna hardware and seal.

The cut on the front is the updated seal. I guess it makes since since the roof is sloped and water would gravity drain out. Of course it would get pushed in by driving and that’s why the inner flat rubber damn is behind the cut.

Added the keypad today. It’s def a feature I missed from my f150. I’ll use it a lot
locks - unlocks and rolls down the windows

also lights up at night when pressed

Any idea if this keypad would work for a 2015? I found the listing for a 2018.

Sorry have no idea. I know when I asked about the new one they said it would not work with my 18. The new one has a better design.

There is a thread or two about this (from a year plus ago) and i believe they said because of the bcm, it was not available for 2014/2015 models.   I have a 2014 and it sure would have been real nice to get it.

I've thought about doing this but I've seen enough people with leaky roofs online and decided not to mess with it unless it's needs to be replaced. Unfortunately I have a 2014 and I'm assuming the previous owner didn't replace the antenna so I probably have the only style seals.

added the true-cool 40k, before I added the cooler I had already deleted the transmission thermostat, with the thermostat in place originally trans temps were 190-220+ almost always, deleting the thermostat dropped it down to about 170-190, adding the true-cool dropped it to about 155 after a good little workout, just cruising it was 122-135 ambient temp was about 75deg
took me a little while to get it installed this is a universal kit, it was simple enough to just pull one pipe, cut it and flare one end (discovered I don't really have skills for flaring) then fit a hose over it and clamped it, ran the hose thru the plastic, used the supplied brackets with a little bending and cutting, not all professional but it works and should remain trouble free for many years.
I installed it to work in unison with the factory cooler, I did trim a couple small pieces off of the shutters for clearance even though the shutters are disabled by blackbear if I have to put the tune back to stock then it wont give me any problems blocking the shutters from working. It's only letting me upload 1 picture for some reason.

Do you tow a lot or something? After I did the thermostat mod? I haven’t seen mine gone up more than 150-155 driving around with 70-75 degrees ambient temp. Before the thermostat mod it was about 180-190

Hahaha I see. It’s currently 67 out and my trans temp haven’t pass 127 yet. Been on the freeway for about 25-30 mins now.

Good post tho. Now I know what I can do if I’m not happy with trans temp once I install my S/C
