What have you done to your K2 today?

Recommended Posts

Yes but I wonder if anyone has ever tried to wire it.

I’ve actually seen a wired one a while back that requires drilling through your door to mount it but it directly connects to the door lock circuit. So the only programming is the code and it acts just like a door lock button. Never got the courage to try it tho hahah. I’ll see if I can find a link.

I got a new color matched sharkfin antenna on ebay. Was $17 shipped. I noticed the new color matched one has a cut on the rear of the seal. My 2018 factory black one has a cut on the front with a inner straight flap of rubber to help keep water out.

I took the 6 screws out and swapped covers to keep my original antenna hardware and seal.

The cut on the front is the updated seal. I guess it makes since since the roof is sloped and water would gravity drain out. Of course it would get pushed in by driving and that’s why the inner flat rubber damn is behind the cut.

Nice truck, loving that 3rd brake light. Where did you pick that up from if you don't mind me asking?

Found it.  This video is as old as it is terrifying, hahahaha.  Now i remember why i didn't do the wired version. its also pretty expensive:

Thats stupid simple to wire in. 12v positive and negative from batt. And lock and unlock outputs. Looks like you just need 4 wires. 2 of whick should go to the bcm blue plug.

yeah its not the wiring part i was scurrd of... it was drilling 7 holes in my door... and maybe its me but did you see the way his holes came out in the video?!?!  AND he was using a step bit.  I DO like that this type goes inside the door.  I just cant get past the whole sticker part on the outside either.  Like the Wireless one looks nice and sturdy but its just sticking there on your door. Maybe i'm overthinking it, but say you lock your keys in the truck (the whole beauty of these) and some assclown rips the thing off your door while you're not around and chucks it in the nearest trash can.  This of course is the same mentality of that guy who got knocked out for spitting on oranges in that market in Italy. haha

Truck originally had big fuel gauge and no tach. I found a cluster 10 years ago and swapped it in. Tach works fine 40 degrees and above. Anything below that and it won’t work until the cab warms up.

Guessing it’s the gauge or the circuit board on the back.

I’ll have to do a driving video when I get a suction mount.

A "cold natured Chevy", never have heard of one of those before.....

I think the big fuel gauge was made like that to make you think you were getting better MPG than you actually were, it had to travel a great distance from full to empty.
