Wish I had the cash to through a super charger on my 5.3. I also don't want to kill my warranty yet. Maybe in a year or two. Want to be sure there's no bugs that need to be worked out of this new 5.3!

I called up lingenfelter today while purchasing a line lock for my vette and question him about the Maggie on a 5.3 well 2014s..He said there so impressive and will drive around a 6.2..and doing a lot of them..hmm..5.3s only

I love to see a 6.2 vs Maggie 5.3 same gear

For the ones who have not drive a 6.2 your in for a huge surprise close your eyes u think u were in a vette.lol

Don't know about anyone else but I'd rather have a 6.2 then a supercharged 5.3.. No replacement for displacement...imo

Me to the 6.2 is just a beast. All the people talking down about it are just mad they settled with the 5.3. Do anything you want to a 5.3 id still be happy knowing mine makes all that power straight from the factory and tune the 6.2 the same as a 5.3 and it will always be ahead. Plus mpg isn't much different especially considering the extra punch.

I have a 2010 with a 5.3 and new it wasnt powerful enough, and they barely bumped up the numbers on the new 5.3. just not even close. So I knew going in that I wanted the 6.2 as soon as I heard it was an option. Of course since I am giving up my 2010 camaro, I really didnt have any choice but to get the 6.2
I also got the max tow with the 3:73's so it should be quick. I mean its a truck, but I want it to be a sexy and fast truck to compete with the camaro... :D

When I get my truck in this month..my cherry will be popped as I've yet to drive a 6.2! I get more stoked with my choice after reading feedback like this.

heres a question thats probably easy for some. is there any external visual differences between the 5.3 and 6.2? for example if someone said theirs was a 5.3, is there a visual marking or casting etc... that would confirm or deny the claim? (this question is obviously taking for granted the vin or window sticker isnt available)

just curious

NO visual differences from the 5.3 to the 6.2 this time around.

On the front passenger side of the engine compartment their is a sticker on my 6.2 that identifies the engine. I dont rember what else was on it but I remember it started 6.2L

Yep theres a sticker on the airbox. Mine clearly says 5.3L

The emissions sticker will state engine size among other details. Somewhere on the block may have 6.2 cast into it but that may not be visible.

In case the VIN is available, the 8th number in the VIN is "J" for the 6.2L, "C" for the 5.3L and "H" for the 4.3L

Exhaust pipe is different. 6.2 is bigger

So I am exchanging my 2014 for a new truck and have the option for the 6.2. I drive a lot of highway miles and wondered if the 6.2 gas on highway is close to the published 20mpg. My 5.3 was iffy iffy.

Is the 6.2 smoother? I think my 5.3 now is not as smooth as my 2011 avvy however has more power.

Just curious on people thoughts of how a 6.2 feels vs a 5.3

Please only reply if you have tested both 2014 models.

Thanks!
