Wish I could get that for my 900 Sierra. There are pics on the net of Australian trucks that have the drivers side handle, but when I took the VIN to my local parts guy, he said the parts were unavailable.

The "driver side" in Australian is your passenger side...go figure.

Well, I stand corrected, I do not have this particular handle on the driver's side A pillar. The one I have is the retractable one on the B pillar.

The picture I posted earlier is actually from a 2015 truck model.

Same here.

I always have when driving a truck or SUV having a driver assist handle doesn't make a ton of sense to me.

I just grab the steering wheel

This is what I do too, but Id rather have a handle. Handles don't move when you slip on the ice, jumping in.

Steering wheel shouldn't move much. For me the steering wheel is at a more appropriate position and angle to grab when getting in the vehicle.

Well it turns and stuff, if it's running. I've fallen on my ass before like that. I do agree its generally in a better position though.

Didn't think about if the truck was running.

Yes that photo does show the passenger side, but if you look at the other photo it is upside down and definatly for the drivers side.

Think we might have a possible false alarm here. The part numbers ending with 699 and 700 show on GM's site to be assist handles but do not indicate which side... neither do any other part sites, including the site my dealer uses to order parts. This could possibly be due to an art/media dept error where they accidentally flipped the pic. Attached below are identical images, just mirrored:

Dont think so, If you look at your mirror images, the grab handle would face the windshield and be backward. The photo I show, the handle does face back and would fit the drivers side.
