What are you towing with your 2014?

I've got some decisions to make. 2014, 5.3, 3.42. In the past, I've pulled 24 foot enclosed race trailers, no problems at all. Crosswinds aren't fun... but other than that, no issues. Of course I use a WD hitch.

I am considering buying a 28' race trailer w/living quarters... empty weight about 6,000, and I'll probably be about 8500k loaded. My concern is this: the trailer is 7'4" tall inside... from road to top, it is 9' 8" tall.

I do need the extra height for what I'm towing... but I'm pretty worried about the wind resistance with this tall of a trailer and the 5.3l. Any experience?

My travel trailer is about that height and weighs almost 11k loaded. The hardest part is the tongue weight. Mine is about 12.7%

So happy. Hitched up my 21 foot trailer to my new truck this afternoon. I was a bit concerned that we were going to need a different hitch since the hitch sits 2 inches higher on my new truck. Not even going to be an issue, was almost dead level. Was thinking that we were going to need tow mirrors. No need for tow mirrors, the trailer is only a few inches wider than the truck is, so again no issues. Can't wait to take it up to the campground for 4th of July week.

Here is my rig hooked up to a 26' Jayco expandable camper. Got some rear sag, but overall it pulled rather decent.

Just picked up my new travel trailer tonight. Dry it is 6600lbs. 33'5" long from hitch to bumper. When I picked it up they had filled the freshwater tank so it was over 7k. Towed it about 60 miles through the green mountains of VT. Truck handled it great! No sway and did not struggle at all, even in pretty decent wind. Truck has 3.42's. Luv this truck!

Handles the boat well? 5.3 or 6.2?

I'm looking at buying a wake boat in the future and don't really wanna have to buy a different truck.

It's does good yes. 5.3 with 3.42 gear. The boat dry is 4200lb. Add trailer, 65 gal of gas, all wake/lake gear camping gear for the weekend, and finally all 5 of my family it's does sag in the rear a little ;) No idea what the weight was but it was heavy. After a weekend in the Ozark Mountains with all the above on a 4 hour tow I decided to add a set of helper springs. Other than that I have no issues. It will hold speed up a pretty steep hill, stops and turns very stable, and I get 10.5 mpg with all tires on the truck and trailer at 50psi.

That's not the trucks fault, that trailer isn't setup right, had a 34 Edgewater on mine today, it walked it

Boat was sitting in a storage unit and I just picked it up. I would have had it about 4 ft or so back
