What are you towing with your 2014?

2014 4.3 V6 with tow package. Trailer and Jeep was about 5500 lbs. Truck pulled it up hill, down hill for 50+ miles coming out of the mountains near Laconia NH without breaking a sweat. I actually pulled over at Alton Bay to take these pictures.

Pulled my 19 ft Chaparral with a inboard 135hp Volvo GM 3.0L, tanks full., up hill from a dead stop like it was nothing (in 4x4)

gota say, i love this truck. i have another 2 boats ive got to pull, prep and launch over the next couple weeks.

Just purchased a 2015 Silverado. The ball on my hitch is 2 inches higher than my previous tow vehicle even after flipping it and adjusting to the lowest level. Is that two inches really going to make a big difference? With my previous vehicle it towed like a dream, dead level, no bottoming out, etc.. So, what is the opinions out there about leaving it alone or go purchase a drop down hitch? I haven't connected it at yet since it is at a storage facility.

I connected mine to the trailers I use (cargo and utility) and then adjusted. In my situation, it did make a difference in the handling of the cargo trailer, but I have an adjustable hitch where the ball mount slides up and down.

Chuck, We have an adjustable hitch also. It is on the lowest level.

Wow. I have a lot of play in mine yet. Is your truck lifted? I'd still wait to see what happens when you drop the trailer hitch on it. My last truck also relaxed more with the weight on the hitch than this one does. Then again, drop bars are pretty cheap. I like the trailer to be as level as possible when loaded.

No, it is not lifted. Straight out of the box. 18 inch wheels. Only mods so far is bedliner and locking lugs. The other issue with the hitch is that where the reciever locks into place with the pin it sticks out 2-3 inches further that the setup on my previous vehicle.

I suggest you hook it up and see if it bothers you.

Pulled this 600+ miles this weekend. Kills the MPG but you can hardly tell it's back there.

Barely 2200lbs but it still counts haha. 6.2L never knows its there.

Is this with the 2" level? I also have a heavy trailer and don't want it to squat. Currently it tows like a dream, nice and level. Worried that with a 2" level, it will be more difficult to level out with the WD bars.
