Those of you that wish to know if your truck is in the affected VIN list for the recall can go to either the GMC or Chevy website and go to the dropdown for "FOR OWNERS" then to "GMC/Chevy OWNER'S CENTER". Go to the Warranty/Recalls - Recalls page. You type in your VIN and it will give you the recalls affecting your VIN.

The last fire recall never showed up for me in the three weeks between the letter and me bringing it in. I think the owners website is a joke if you are expecting timely updates.

Yeah, you can't go by the web site. If yours is on list you will probably get a email first and then a letter in the mail for sure. Also your dealer will know.

All that happened last time of getting the e-mail and then letter. Just one would think it would be more real time on their website.

+1 Make sure you guys are checking your spam folder for the recall email. Alot of people are finding the email in there.

For anyone who wants an App to follow these recalls, NHTSA has an iPhone and Android one listed on the web page. I was able to find two of my vehicles, not all of them were listed and I could not get the Profile section to work for push notifications...

I just ran my VIN and nothing showed up. My build date was 03/06 so hopefully it was caught before hand or it didn't apply.

Don't count on it. My dealer's service manager says the recall is not listed yet in their database. It may not be there until the letters go out around April 28th.

I ran my VIN too, build date 08/13/13 and it isn't there. Check back later.

Took my truck to the dealer today and got the recall done. Everything was fine with it... states line were properly secure... no further action required. My build date was 06/13.

Porsche had to "shutter" production and recall all 785 of the new GT3's built due to a rod bolt problem. Fires broke out in cars when the engine case was breached and oil hit the exhaust/cats. Owners were notified to "park" their cars and "admonished not to drive them". A dealer I know told me that all they are allowed to do is push them around the lot. Cannot run them at all.

There are quite a few very angry/anxious owners. These are $130,000+ cars and have been off the road for more than a month now.

My GMC has been back to the dealership more times and I haven't even had the first oil change! Guess I should know better then to buy the first year of the new production.....
