Aftermarket LED Taillights

Does anyone know if the Sierra/Silverado tails are interchangeable? I haven't gotten up close and personal to the Silverado to check contours of the tails as compared to the sierra.

No. The Silverado tail lights are taller. They go down a bit more than the sierra lights and have very subtle curve differences. Motomedic already looked into it before he disappeared on us

If this was already mentioned I apologize. But I'm seeking some clarification, is the OLED a style and not a specific mfgr?

Has anyone ever baked open a set of aftermarket headlights? If so, is it the same process as the factory? Around 225 degrees for roughly 20 min.? Or am I crazy?

My plan is to get a set and paint the interior white if possible.

I love the factory tail light pattern. May just have to get mine smoked. Can you at least change the bulbs in the tails to led?

Yes the bulbs can be changed in the factory housings to LED. You will just need to install resistors as well so that they will not hyperblink.

If you are going to smoke the OEM housings then I would use VLED V3 Tritons as the replacement bulbs. They are extremely bright and should remain very easily visible in the smoked housing during the day and in the evening.

If I didn't have aftermarket LED housings, I personally would get the V3s whether the housings were smoked or not. The V3s I have in my front turn signals are very bright.

If you do white bulbs you will end up with pink tail lights. Whenever you change out lights to LEDs then you want to try to color match the light to where it is going. i.e. when I changed out my front turn signals I got amber lights, if you change tail lights you should get red lights.

Reverse bulbs will be 921 and the same goes for the 3rd brake light if you want to change that one out too. I did on my truck

I have and yes it is. I do 200 for 15 minutes and its pretty easy to get apart.

I am thinking the same thing. I like the stock pattern but want LED. I would love a stock looking taillight with LED light pipe surrounding edge of the reflector housing. I was going to get the ANZO taillights but the quality and fit/finish I am sure are going to be as good as stock. I had Hella LED taillights on my old truck and they weren't bad but 3 yrs later the electronics and resistors built in to them went bad.

I am going to try the Philips street legal LEDs 7443 http://www.usa.philips.com/c-m-li/vision-led. Already have the 921 in my cargo and reverse and they are 100x better than the eBay LEDs I first tried. Also have their 194s in my license plate. Light is pure white and LEDs face the reflector and produces a very good light pattern out the back.

Have you found the lumen output of the Philips bulbs? I can not seem to find any information on them. But I do like their bulb design in how it looks like an incandescent light
