Spurshot Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Went with 4" rolled edge over the axle dump. Wanted to clean up the rear exit. Through the wheel well view: Did you notice the spotting on the right tube of the axle housing? You might look for the source.
hotrodz37 Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Did you notice the spotting on the right tube of the axle housing? You might look for the source. Thanks Spurshot, I did. Not too sure where it came from, one guess being overspray from tire shine. I did have a leaky oil filter at one point that it might have blown back to it. I am going to wipe the axle off this weekend and see if it comes back. Have you seen something like this before? Any ideas?
Kerrslight Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 Those of you that just do a muffler swap and keep the stock piping, are you going with a 3" inlet for the tips? What are you doing for length? Don't want it to stick out past the rear quarter panel. Just wanting to put a tip over the stock piping.
Kerrslight Posted April 15, 2015 Posted April 15, 2015 I'm currently looking at this one, but don't know if it'll be too short. It's 3" inlet, 4" outlet and 7.5" long. Would that be too short? http://www.autoanything.com/exhausts-mufflers/gibson-slash-exhaust-tip

Theres actually a GMC tip for sale here on the forum ( not mine) seems like a great deal.

I need to talk to the guy that is going to do my exhaust because I plan on having the flapper and resonator removed when I have my new muffler installed. I need to find out what diameter piping they will use from the muffler back.
Kerrslight Posted April 23, 2015 Posted April 23, 2015 Got the muffler put on today. Guy installed 3" pipe from the muffler back with a 3" dual-walled exhaust tip.
SouthernSilveradoGuy85 Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Not sure what brand, just what the shop ordered when I had them build my exhaust. I have 2 black chrome slash cut tips with one on each side at a 45° behind each tire.
barcia51 Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 Does anyone know if the stock exhaust pipe tip on the 6.2 and 5.3's are the same or different on the 2015's?
Truckin 55 Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 3.5 slash cut tips and rusting inside, thought about painting with Hi Temp Black but sure it will just flake off .Edited post 18" length was incorrect, measured and they are 16" from tip to weld. Want a better grade 2.5 inlet with 3" or 3.5" rolled edge tip but so far only found 12 ,18"L'
Kayslay Posted August 23, 2015 Posted August 23, 2015 Dual black tips out the side Corsa style 4" x 9"
