Thanks... Color is Tungsten (Iridium in GMC), wheels are GM 22" SEY's.

Thank you sir! I believe I now know what color I want to order. (My 08 Z06 is black, so they should compliment nicely).

I wonder why they retract so low away from the cab, that's my main dislike, if they were up closer like on the Ford Platinums or oem they would look better

Interesting...the Ford Platinum that I saw extended and retracted the same as the AMP steps on my truck. And I was told the AMP steps extend and retract quicker due to new motor and stronger hardware design for the 2014 GM version. Mind you, this was an older Ford owned by the installer/dealer that installed mine.

As far as how far down they extend, I'm not concerned with how they look when they extend...I am pleased with how they operate because my wife (who is short) and my 87 year old Dad find the height to be very "natural" to step in with. Now when they retract, they hug the body lines which, to me, is more important than how they look when extended.

By the way, each side extends independently of the other using the ODB port. And all of the LED lights come on for both sides when either side is opened.

I'd have to see the OEM version in person, but they look to me like they hang down too low when retracted to me. But, If I was ordering a new truck, you can bet they would be on there though just to save me the energy of putting on the aftermarket steps.

Just another perspective...

I'm looking at a 2013 Suburban LTZ. With what appears are factory retractable running boards. There is a switch on the dash to turn them off. Anyone have them?? Are they problematic ???

Would seem like a very rare option.

I replied in your other thread (but that thread was in the Silverado forum so I thought it was a truck).

I was looking for a truck with the factory retractable running boards. I had to buy an Ultimate to get them.....there goes my retirement, but the steps are cool.

i also very much love the look and function of the new truck boards. Love that they also move to the side of bed for better bed access. But as most have said , it becomes a very expensive project if you want OEM;s.

AMP is a very nice piece , nothing against them. I just like the OEM look
