SLT Crew rear seat real leather??

When I bought my 2014 Sierra, 'leather' was at bottom of my want list. The 05 Sierra SLT I traded in had "leather" front buckets but full vinyl rear bench for ext. cab. Talk about a rip off!! Now, at least on the 2014 SLT CC you get 'leather' rear seating surface. Does SLT or LTZ double cab have 'leather' rear bench? That 'leather' wore great on the 05 as @ 116k miles it still wasn't broken in. Seriously cheap stuff IMO.

Sorry but the crew cabs have a vinyl rear seat not leather.

I am confused are you guys saying the rear seats are made from something different than the front seats?

Yes, the rear seats are not leather. They are either vinyl or a synthetic leather.

The only thing worthy of being called leather in my truck is the steering wheel.

 

Sad but true. - the "leather inserts" that account for maybe 1/3 of the entire front seats are cheap low quality. I was really torn on this trying to decide between the AT and a Denali - the Denali would have cost me about $1700 more outta pocket, but had the trailer brake, ventilated seats, factory spray-in liner, blind spot monitoring - but the thing I really liked about it was the higher quality real leather seats.

 

At the end of the day I went w/ the AT because I like the look of the 20" rims the best, I dislike the Denali grill & also think the AT grill is the best looking, and I know I want to @ least level the truck and the magnaride suspension on the Denali pretty much eliminates that.

This is a little off topic but with the quality (and cost) of "leather" seats in most vehicles these days, cloth seats were actually a must have for me. As much as the leather seat quality declined, the cloth seat quality has improved.

Smell test confirms it, on my Silverado LTZ Crew the front buckets have leather seating surfaces and the rear seats are not leather but look very much like the front, even matching the perforations.

 

The back seats will mostly be used by kids and I would be worried about them staining or hurting the leather so I'm OK with the material choice.

 

I didn't really care whether the seats were leather or cloth but with the options I wanted it required the upmodel that comes with leather front buckets.

 

I would have preferred the 40/20/40 bench actually.

 

I just hope the materials last a while as I plan to keep the truck for a good long time.

 

I figure the seat materials are probably a minor part of what makes up the total price of these trucks nowadays anyway.

Just be careful who sees you sniffing your seat bottoms. Might get the wrong impression.

I have done much research on this subject, and the best pound for pound company is classic soft trim, I know a lot of people will slam me that have used katzkin and classio, saying they liked it but the classic soft trim is what I`m going to use.
